Chapter 570
Chapter 570:
Ashton’s mind flashed back to the incident at the train station days ago. His instincts sharpened; this woman was no ordinary shopper. His patience spent, Ashton stopped concealing himself and quickly intercepted her path.
“Care to explain what business you had in the restroom?” His voice was cold, cutting through the din of the mall. “It sure didn’t seem like you went in there for its usual purpose.”
Caught off guard, the woman’s face drained of color. She hadn’t anticipated anyone taking note of her carefully executed routine. Her mind raced for an excuse, but she quickly realized something: she was standing outside a women’s restroom. How could a man challenge her there without raising suspicion?
Suddenly, her demeanor shifted. A scream tore from her throat, loud and piercing. “Help! This man is trying to attack me!”
The mall, alive with peak-hour shoppers, buzzed with immediate commotion. A wave of people surged forward, rallying around the woman like a shield.
“Don’t worry, ma’am! Just tell us what happened, and we’ll make sure you’re safe,” one man shouted reassuringly, positioning himself between her and Ashton.
The woman, sensing victory, feigned trembling as she spoke. “He’s been stalking me, watching me in the restroom! I don’t know what he was planning to do, but if you hadn’t come, I’d have been at his mercy!”
Her fashionable appearance and carefully crafted tears gave her tale a disturbing credibility.
The crowd’s faces twisted with anger, their judgment swift and merciless. Eyes that once ignored Ashton now bore down on him with disdain.
“Unbelievable! To think someone would act so disgracefully in broad daylight,” a man scoffed.
“Seriously? You seem like a decent person, but acting like that is just awful. You’re behaving worse than an animal!”

“Let’s hand him over to the authorities,” someone suggested. “Maybe they’ll teach him a lesson he won’t forget!”
Surrounded by indignation, Ashton’s expression grew darker.
His gut told him the woman was dangerous, and if she had left a gas bomb in the restroom, this crowd was walking straight into harm’s way. He raised his voice, hoping to break through the rising mob mentality. “You’re all making a mistake! This woman is likely involved in something far more dangerous. Standing here puts everyone in danger!”
But the onlookers were deaf to reason. To them, Ashton’s words were nothing more than the desperate excuse of a guilty man caught red-handed. They edged closer, determined to subdue him.
The woman, feeling victorious at how effortlessly she had manipulated the crowd, prepared to vanish into the confusion she had created.
Just as she turned, confidence swelling with the thought of her clean escape, she abruptly stopped. Her way was no longer clear. A figure stood directly in her path, immovable and resolute. The woman’s bravado faltered as her eyes met a steady, unwavering gaze.
Alisha appeared before her, her stance firm and unwavering. Her eyes, sharp with indignation, met the woman’s startled gaze. “Who do you think you are, throwing false accusations at my boyfriend?”
