Chapter 58
Chapter 58:
Although Phillip wasn’t as charming as Ashton, he still possessed considerable good looks. Emalee was particularly captivated by Phillip. Dressed impeccably in an Armani suit paired with Givenchy pants and sporting a gold Rolex, Phillip radiated an air of wealth and elegance. In contrast, Ashton, despite his undeniable attractiveness, seemed less affluent in his unbranded attire.
The car salesperson, Mia Clark, quickly showed her preference for Phillip with a warm and inviting smile. “Hello, sir and madam, I’m Mia Clark, your sales representative. Feel free to call me Mia. It’s a pleasure to have you here. We’ve just received some exciting new models. Would you be interested in taking a look?” Mia proposed enthusiastically. She barely glanced at Ashton, giving him a quick, dismissive look before focusing her attention back on Phillip.
Feeling ignored, Ashton interjected, “What about me?” Mia regarded him with a hint of disdain and then, somewhat reluctantly, signaled to a younger colleague, who was an intern. “Hey, Chloe, could you take care of him? I’m occupied with these important clients,” she stated, brushing him off.
Ashton wasn’t perturbed by her dismissive attitude. He preferred not to be attended to by someone so openly prejudiced. Nervous yet attentive, Chloe Harper approached and offered him a comforting smile. She quickly brought him a cup of coffee and some snacks. “Sir, what type of car are you looking for? I’m here to help with any questions you might have,” she asked earnestly.
Encouraged by her genuine attitude, Ashton smiled and inquired, “What’s the most expensive family car you have?”
Chloe paused, taken aback, but quickly composed herself. “We have a selection of high-end family cars. They can be quite pricey. Are you certain you want the most expensive one?”
Ashton reassured her with a smile. “Just show me the most expensive one.”
After a brief hesitation, Chloe pointed and explained, “That would be the latest BMW 8 Series Coupe. The on-road price is around 1.36 million.”

Ashton followed her gaze to the sleek, stylish vehicle that seemed perfectly suited to his needs. Nearby, Phillip and Emalee were deeply engrossed in examining another car. Ashton glanced away with an air of indifference. Just as Chloe was pulling out her phone to check the specifications, Ashton stopped her.
“There’s no need for that. I’ll take it,” he declared coolly, extending his bank card to her.
Chloe, caught off guard, paused in surprise. Ashton was ready to buy the car without even a test drive? With a hint of disbelief, she processed the transaction. As the receipt printed, the deal was sealed smoothly. Noticing Chloe’s stunned expression, Ashton waved his hand in front of her face and laughed.
“Why are you still standing there? I’ve already paid. Can you bring the car down so I can take it for a spin?”
Chloe, both shocked and excited, nodded vigorously. “It’s your car. You can do whatever you want with it!” Trying to contain her excitement, she hurried to the display platform to fetch the car.
Meanwhile, Phillip and Emalee had just stepped out of the car they were inspecting. Noticing Ashton by himself, Phillip approached with a smirk.
“Why are you standing here all alone? Aren’t you going to check out the car? Or are you afraid that if you damage it, you won’t be able to afford the repairs?” he sneered.
Ashton just shook his head and chuckled. “No need. I’m not one for test drives.”
Phillip scoffed disdainfully and taunted, “No wonder you couldn’t win Emalee’s heart in two years of marriage. Stubbornness is all you’ve got!”
Pleased with his own remark, Phillip then headed toward the most prestigious vehicle in the showroom, the BMW 8 Series Coupe. Mia, the sales representative, guided them with a wide smile, thrilled at the prospect of a significant sale. This was the most expensive limited-edition car they had. If Phillip purchased it, Mia’s commission would be substantial, equal to several months’ pay!
However, as Mia was about to showcase the car, she noticed Chloe, the intern, already seated in the driver’s seat. Mia’s expression soured instantly, and she scolded sharply, “What are you doing? You can’t touch this car! Get out now!”
Chloe got out and hurried to explain, “Mia, let me explain. This car is already…”
But Mia cut her off mid-sentence, raising her voice. “Don’t give me excuses! Can’t you see I’m attending to important clients? Use your brain! If these clients are displeased and the deal falls through, can you take that responsibility?”
By this time, Phillip and Emalee had comfortably seated themselves in the front seats of the car. In a state of panic, Chloe urgently reminded them, “Sir, please be cautious. I just switched the car to driving mode and haven’t switched it back yet!”
Phillip, however, disregarded Chloe’s warning. Eager to use this opportunity to ridicule Ashton, he leaned out from the driver’s seat, making a taunting gesture at Ashton. He shouted with a triumphant tone, “Ashton! Take a good look. This is something you’ll never experience—sitting in a car like this!”
Chloe, visibly frightened, quickly interjected, “Sir, please don’t engage in such reckless actions. If you accidentally hit the gas pedal, the consequences could be dire!”
Phillip, annoyed by her interruption, glared at her and snapped, “Why are you talking so much? What I do is none of your concern!”
Caught up in his mockery and not paying attention, Phillip accidentally pressed down on the gas pedal. The engine emitted a fierce roar, and the car shot forward uncontrollably, colliding with several other vehicles in a dramatic crash!
