Seeing Zane’s distress, Alisha’s heart softened. She moved quickly to intervene.

As she tried to console him, she reassured him, “Zane, don’t talk like that. You haven’t lost my trust—”

But before she could finish, Zane grabbed her hand tightly, flipped over swiftly, and pinned her down.

Gone was the image of the sobbing Zane. His face was now filled with a cold, mocking smile.

With his teeth clenched, Zane sneered. “I knew you’d buy my act. Alisha, your innocence is your downfall. How could someone as straightforward as you ever make it as a cop? Let today’s lesson reveal the harsh realities of our world to you.”

Alisha found herself pinned to the floor, initially shocked, then frantically trying to free herself.

Zane’s hold was firm, and despite her efforts, Alisha could not escape his overpowering grip.

In desperation, Alisha attempted to reason with him. “Zane, stop this madness! Let me go. Your involvement with the Dark Night Organization is bad enough. If you continue down this path, I won’t be able to defend you.”

Zane responded with a cold sneer, “Madness? You think I see these as mistakes? You’re mistaken. I have never regretted my actions. I’ve been with the Dark Night Organization all along. You really thought it was just collusion?”

Alisha’s resistance faltered as she absorbed his words.

Shaking with disbelief, she stammered, “Zane, how can this be possible? You’re a leading officer in Staville, possibly succeeding my father. Why would you ally with such a terrifying organization?”

With deliberate slowness, Zane took the crucial card from Alisha’s hand, then whispered tauntingly in her ear, “It seems you’ve got the order wrong. My joining the police was orchestrated by the envoy of the Dark Night Organization. The big cases I ‘solved’? They were set up by the Organization to boost my career, and all were supported by the envoy. Partnering with the envoy to take down Ashton shouldn’t come as a shock.”

Stunned by his revelation, Alisha resumed her struggle with renewed vigor, her voice quaking with fury. “Zane! How can you be this deceitful? I will tell my father everything. You’re going to be exposed for the fraud you are!”

Zane laughed heartily at her threats. “You think you can expose me? How naive and foolish. If I’ve told you the truth, it’s because I have no intention of letting you go.”

As he spoke, his hand gently drifted from Alisha’s arm up to her shoulder, then down to her waist.

The look in his eyes was undeniably lustful as he smirked and said, “You have quite the figure—your curves remind me of ripe peaches, irresistible. Today, I’m finally going to have my way with you. Don’t worry, though; I won’t kill you. From now on, you’ll be mine to enjoy.”

With those words, Zane began forcefully trying to strip Alisha of her clothing.

Alisha fought back with all her might, yet her efforts seemed tragically futile against his strength.
