Chapter 645
Chapter 645:
It was clear that Antoni knew Red Jack all too well, and he understood, with painful clarity, the dire consequences that awaited him if he lost this gamble.
Desperation clawed at him as he tried to push Red Jack away, shaking his head violently. “No, please, I was wrong. I won’t gamble anymore. I don’t need the money back—please, isn’t that enough?”
Red Jack’s eyes narrowed with cold calculation. Without a word, he slid a card from his sleeve and pressed it firmly against Antoni’s neck.
“I’ve been watching the game for far too long to back out now,” Red Jack sneered, his voice dripping with disdain. “You’re in this deep, so you can’t just bail.”
Antoni’s heart hammered in his chest as the card against his neck felt like a blade. He swallowed hard, his throat dry, as if he were choking on the very air around him. Desperately wiping the cold sweat from his brow, Antoni stammered, “I’ll gamble. I’ll do it right now, I swear!”
Red Jack put the card away, his lips curving into a smile. “That’s more like it. I believe in you, so don’t disappoint me.”
He leaned in slightly, his eyes gleaming with mischief. “By the way, didn’t you just complain about the game being unfair and accuse the young man of cheating? Well, how about I deal this time?”
Without waiting for a response, Red Jack moved to the center of the table, swiftly opening a new deck and shuffling it expertly, the cards flicking through his fingers like a magician’s trick.
Antoni slumped back into his chair, his nerves stretched tight like a bowstring, while Ashton, across the table, seemed almost eager, his eyes alight with a spark of excitement.
The final round was upon them.
According to the rules, Red Jack dealt two cards to each player. Ashton, his gaze never faltering, immediately called, “Deal.”

He flipped over his two cards, revealing the beginning of his hand, and then laid down the next two cards with the practiced calm of a seasoned gambler.
Red Jack dealt the fifth card to Ashton, but the moment the card touched the table, the entire casino seemed to hold its breath.
Ashton’s hand was laid bare—four fives, adding up to 20 points. The tension was unbearable.
If the final card wasn’t an ace, then Antoni would win by default, as Ashton’s total would exceed 21.
But Ashton didn’t immediately flip the last card. Instead, he shot a glance at Antoni and said coolly, “I’ve shown you four cards. Isn’t it time you revealed yours?”
Antoni’s throat constricted as he swallowed nervously. His hands were shaking as he revealed the two cards that Red Jack had dealt him.
Perhaps luck had decided to favor Antoni this time, for both his cards were tens, adding up to 20 points as well—a perfect match to Ashton’s hand.
The only difference was that Ashton had already drawn his last card, while Antoni was still facing the unknown. Red Jack, his smile widening, turned to Antoni. “So, what’s your decision? Will you take the risk and draw another card?”
