Chapter 646
Chapter 646:
Without a moment’s hesitation, Antoni shook his head. “Out of the entire deck, excluding the jokers and the cards in play, there are 45 cards left. Only four of them are aces. The odds are too slim; the risk isn’t worth it.”
Red Jack raised an eyebrow, a trace of disappointment in his voice. “So, you’re betting that Ashton’s final card isn’t the ace?”
Antoni gritted his teeth, his jaw tight with determination. “I refuse to believe he can win with such low odds.”
Ashton shook his head, a look of disappointment crossing his face. “You call yourself a casino king, yet you’re so timid. When the stakes are at their highest, you choose to play it safe? Don’t you realize that in the world of gambling, the moment you give up on an all-or-nothing bet, you’ve already lost?”
Antoni snapped, his patience thinning. “Enough with the lectures! I bet your card isn’t the ace—what’s the problem? Just show it already!”
Ashton chuckled, his laughter full of quiet amusement, before slowly flipping his final card.
It was the ace of hearts, bringing his total to 21 points.
In that moment, Red Jack also flipped over the card Antoni had dared not draw.
It was the ace of spades!
If Antoni had drawn that card, following the rules, he would have been the one to win the round.
For a gambler, defeat wasn’t the cruelest blow; every gambler carried the belief that fortune could be turned around in the next round, that the next hand would be the one to reclaim what was lost.
But what truly broke a gambler’s spirit wasn’t simply losing—it was the agony of losing a game they should have won, all because of their own hesitation.
Antoni stared blankly at the card Red Jack pinched between his fingers, his mind a haze. Slowly, he sank to the floor, dazed, his body a shell of itself.

Red Jack was far from surprised by the outcome. Yet, a smirk curled on his lips as he mocked, “I didn’t want to throw away money either; I was eager to see you win. I even considered helping you cheat, but you were too timid to seize victory. Truly disappointing.”
Antoni, shaken from his stupor, begged desperately, “Mr. Red Jack, please, give me another chance! This time, I promise I’ll win!”
Red Jack shook his head, a cold smile playing on his face. “Every gambler says that. But you’ll never get that second chance.”
His voice grew sharp, like the edge of a blade. “You know my rules: I can give you the funds to overturn the odds. Win, and the money is yours. Lose, and your life is mine.”
Pale as death, Antoni fell to his knees, his voice trembling with terror. “Please, don’t kill me! Mr. Red Jack, I have money! I can gather it, I swear! I’ll get it now. Just please, don’t take my life!”
Red Jack’s smile widened faintly, devoid of warmth. “Money doesn’t interest me. What I crave is something more… I want to see you die. That’s the entertainment I’m after.”
