Ashton’s gaze flickered to the newcomers, and his eyes narrowed. He recognized one of them immediately—Marc, a member of the influential Crawford family, a man whose reputation preceded him.
Marc, with a swagger in his step, entered the restaurant with a tall gentleman by his side. The stranger had blond hair and piercing blue eyes that seemed to radiate authority. Together, they made their way directly to Malcom, their presence commanding the room.
With an air of smug superiority, Marc announced, “Malcom, the time’s come. Today, I’m here to claim this restaurant, just like we agreed.”
While Marc was talking, his gaze fell on the person sitting next to Malcom. It turned out to be Ashton, the person he had a conflict with just a few days ago, causing his family to scold and punish him.
He was stunned for a moment. Then, a sly grin appeared on his face. His eyes narrowed, filled with resentment and sarcasm.
“Isn’t this Mr. Ashton Baldwin, the head of Skyline Group’s branch in Staville? I didn’t expect to meet you in a place like this, Mr. Baldwin. Fate is truly wonderful, isn’t it? But I heard you’ve been having a hard time lately. Is it true that you also want to join this culinary competition but can’t even qualify?
