Chapter 719
Chapter 719:
Now, Ashton suspected that the Crawford family had hastily arranged the event in collaboration with the authorities, aiming to suppress him.
The competition itself seemed poorly organized. By the time it was the sixth group’s turn, Jeremiah and the other two judges were forced to pause—they simply couldn’t handle tasting another dish.
After a brief break, the organizers scrambled to find a new panel of judges to continue the contest. It wasn’t until the afternoon that all twenty groups managed to complete their preliminary rounds.
Jeremiah returned to the stage after his rest, but his face betrayed his discomfort—likely a result of overeating. Still, Jeremiah forced a smile as he announced the lineup for the semi-finals.
Malcom’s expression darkened when he saw the grouping list for the second round.
Their team was up against a trio from Green Hotel, another strong contender from Pavilion Foods Group, and the competition’s hot favorite.
“Are you kidding me? We’re facing Pavilion Foods Group’s team again? Something feels off about this.”
Ashton, however, remained composed and responded with a calm smile, “What’s so strange about that? Some food companies here are capable of forming multiple teams, but only Pavilion Foods Group managed to enter three teams into the competition. That alone says a lot, doesn’t it?”
Malcom’s worry was evident. “But what if they use underhanded tactics in the next round?”
Ashton shook his head. “I don’t think they would resort to that. If they had, we wouldn’t have made it to the semi-finals. Besides, the judges’ feedback has been quite objective so far, at least in my opinion.”
“But…”

“Don’t worry. If we want to win the championship, we have to be ready to defeat every team that stands in our way. If you’re hoping someone else will smooth the path for …
“You, then this championship isn’t meant for you.”
Malcom didn’t reply, but he looked at Ashton with a trace of surprise.
Initially, Malcom had thought Ashton’s ambition to challenge the three major families was nothing more than reckless bravado.
However, after spending time with Ashton, Malcom realized that this young man was not only a culinary genius but also a sophisticated strategist.
Could Staville truly be on the verge of transformation because of this young man?
Malcom couldn’t help but feel a flicker of anticipation.
Ashton, unaware of why Malcom chuckled, maintained his serious demeanor. “We barely made it to the semifinals. Even with my guidance, your cooking skills have their limits. For this next round, I’ll take charge of the cooking. All I need from you is to prep the ingredients in advance.”
Malcom had no reason to object. He had already humiliated the three Figueroas in the previous round—a victory that was more than enough to satisfy him. Besides, he was genuinely curious to witness this mysterious young man’s culinary prowess.
