Malcom’s expression darkened upon realizing Ashton was already informed. “If you’re aware, then shouldn’t we strategize our response? If we don’t act swiftly, we risk closing our doors for good!”

Seeing the worry etch itself deeper on Malcom’s face, Ashton ceased his instructions to the chefs and faced him fully. “Like I said, I know about it. We don’t need to discuss it further. This is exactly the situation I anticipated and wanted to unfold!”

Malcom hesitated, a flicker of doubt crossing his mind as he questioned if there was something wrong with his hearing. After observing Ashton closely, noting his calm demeanor and complete lack of concern, Malcom entertained the possibility—perhaps Ashton didn’t fully grasp the gravity of the situation their restaurant was facing.

With a somber expression, Malcom spoke. “Ashton, you’re from another city, right? You might not realize how serious the Pavilion Foods Group’s announcement is. If the Crawford family imposes sanctions on us—”

Before Malcom could finish, Ashton rolled his eyes and interrupted, saying, “Pavilion Foods Group, under the Crawford family, controls a vast network of food factories producing everything from meats and fruits to vegetables and seasonings. If they genuinely wanted to impose sanctions on us, we’d lose access to essential ingredients for cooking—that’s your concern, right? Honestly, I’ve heard this spiel so many times I could recite it in my sleep.”
