Chapter 777:

Leonardo flinched, shrinking back in fear. He quickly started to explain, with Hamlin chiming in from time to time. As they spoke, Gustave’s expression began to change.

When he heard that someone had written a wish for Ashton’s death and saw the items Leonardo and Hamlin were holding, his posture finally relaxed. He exhaled deeply, his tense features softening.

“Ah,” he murmured, his mind racing. “If that’s the case, then there is a way to wake him up.” He paused, looking at them with a mixture of contemplation and concern. “But the one who can help him… is not me.”

When Abrial heard there was hope, her eyes lit up. She leaned forward eagerly, her voice urgent. “Mr. Welch, please tell me who can help. I’ll do whatever it takes to bring them here!”

Gustave met her gaze, but he didn’t answer immediately. Instead, he took a deep breath and began to explain.

“These mystical treasures, called Glorious Heritage, have been around since ancient times. There’s no clear explanation for where they come from, but over the years, we’ve learned one thing for sure. These treasures possess a certain kind of spirituality.”

Some may even have a form of intelligence. If not handled properly, they don’t just fail to activate—they can turn against the user, causing harm. This power, when misused, can backfire in the most dangerous way.” He paused, watching Abrial closely. “If I’m not mistaken, everyone else at the scene was unconscious too, correct?”

Hamlin nodded, his face tense. “Yes, everyone was unconscious, but their bodies still responded to the outside world. Ashton, however, appeared lifeless. Like a corpse.”

Gustave’s eyes narrowed. “Exactly. Ashton’s mental power is far beyond that of most people. In a way, he became a lightning rod for the force of the treasure, which is why his condition is so much worse than anyone else’s. Something similar happened before. He made a grave mistake while he was resisting the force of the Glorious Heritage, and that mistake caused him so much shame that he left my place and stopped learning from me.”

Abrial wasn’t interested in the details of past events or the forces at play. To her, all that mattered was Ashton’s safety. “So who can save him?” she asked urgently. “Please, I’ll find them—just tell me where to look!”

Gustave paused, his expression thoughtful. After a moment, he spoke again. “I can’t say for sure if this will work, but when Ashton was last affected by the Glorious Heritage’s force, there was one thing that seemed to calm it—a rare remedy. Virgin Blood. It helped suppress the violent energy of the treasure.”

“Virgin Blood?”

At Gustave’s suggestion, Abrial’s face flushed, her discomfort clear.

With a nervous chuckle, she hesitated before speaking. “Is that really the solution? It… it sounds a bit odd, don’t you think? Are you sure this method will definitely work?”

Gustave scratched his face awkwardly, clearly unsettled. “To be honest, I’m not entirely sure. These Glorious Heritage items are extremely rare, and most of them have been claimed by the national government. Each one has its own unique abilities, so I haven’t been able to study them properly, and I can’t offer a definitive answer. But if you’re asking me for a solution, then my only suggestion is the Virgin Blood. When Ashton was once overwhelmed by the power of the Glorious Heritage, he did use this method to calm the raging force.”
