Ashton nodded, a faint smile playing at the corners of his mouth. He kept his true feelings hidden, but deep down, he knew that this agreement had quietly made him nearly twenty-three billion richer, an increase no one else was aware of.

With their future secure, Leonardo and Hamlin breathed a sigh of relief. But that sense of joy quickly faded, replaced by a more serious expression.

Ashton, noticing the shift in their demeanor, couldn’t help but ask with a hint of amusement, “What’s wrong? Are you having second thoughts about handing over the assets to me?”

Leonardo and Hamlin exchanged a look before shaking their heads in unison.

Leonardo sighed, his gaze distant. “Of course not. I was just thinking about Stephen.”

Hamlin added, his voice a little heavier, “Even though we’ve had our falling out with Stephen, he’s still our childhood friend. Now that we’re in the clear, what happens to him?”

Though they didn’t say it outright, Ashton could tell they were hoping for him to give Stephen a chance.

Ashton’s eyes narrowed, and he scoffed, “If it weren’t for a miracle, that guy could’ve killed me. It’s already generous of me not to retaliate against him. But now you want me to help him?”

Leonardo shuddered but stood his ground. “Stephen didn’t know the whole truth. If we explain everything to him, he might change his mind.”

“Mr. Baldwin, please give him a chance. Everyone makes mistakes. We’ll make sure he doesn’t cause any more trouble,” Hamlin pleaded.

Seeing their loyalty and the bond they still held with Stephen, Ashton sighed in resignation.

Grateful for Ashton’s decision, Leonardo and Hamlin quickly bowed in thanks and hurried off toward the Crawford family residence.

Meanwhile, unlike Ashton, who had been affected by the power of the Glorious Heritage the day before, Stephen had already awoken. Since most of the power had been directed at Ashton, Stephen was unharmed.

He stormed toward Leonardo and Hamlin as they approached. “How dare you show your faces here? Tell me, did you steal the two secret treasures from me? Give them back!” Stephen shouted, furious.
