Ashton came to the realization that, despite her outward anger, Abrial was actually quite rational.

“But I was planning on going back to Inewood,” Ashton whispered.

“That doesn’t matter. If you stir up trouble with the Millers, I’ll haunt you wherever you go!” Abrial declared fiercely.

Understanding that Abrial was really more concerned about his well-being than anything, Ashton smiled, nodded, and took her hand. They then approached Lucretia and Hawthorne, who were waiting.

“I’ve managed to persuade Abrial. So, where are you taking us to experience the real high life?” Ashton asked, his tone dripping with feigned curiosity. However, Ashton nearly burst into laughter when he heard their unexpected response.

Lucretia and Hawthorne, looking supremely self-assured, raised their eyebrows. Lucretia proudly said, “We’ve booked a table at Skyline Restaurant. Tonight, we’ll introduce this country boy to the finest dining spot in Staville!”
