Bruce, cheerful from his recent conversation with Ashton, responded with a laugh and a nod. “I’ve been swamped lately, but I’ll make sure to visit your dad soon.”
Relieved by Bruce’s unchanged friendly demeanor, Fraser then carefully turned to Selena.
“Selena, how are you feeling now? I was still concerned after our last meeting, so I brought some supplements from home to check on you.”
Selena exhibited no hint of suspicion toward Fraser. With a smile, she accepted the gift box he extended and expressed her gratitude.
“Thank you, Fraser. You’ve been so generous lately, showering me with gifts!”
Fraser, sensing no doubt from Selena, felt a surge of relief.
His careful demeanor seemed to be effective, keeping any suspicion at bay.
Confident that he had managed the situation well, Fraser shifted his focus to Ashton.
Although Phillip had already reached out to the gang, their arrival was still some time away.
