I stood by the window, staring at nothing in particular. My mind kept reminding me of Amira’s hand on Tristan, and the more I thought about it, the angrier I became.
I have to keep my game up. I thought he would give up on her after I told Mr. Mico a little about our past, but from the looks of it, he isn’t ready to give up. He will do whatever it takes to be with her.
I won’t let that happen. Amira was rightfully mine, and I’m not ready to give up on her either.
“Hey, son,” Mom said, walking into my room. She never knocks, and I’m sure I wouldn’t like what she’s about to say.
“What do you want, Mom?” I asked.
“Mr. Mico’s son is in the mansion at the moment, and it’s raining heavily,” she replied.
“I want to invite him to sleep over. You know this mansion is like a house to him as well. As long as he’s here, he’s at home. So let him stay the night,” she said with a smile.
“Do you want him to stay over to remind me that your words still stand?” I asked.

“Just suit yourself, do whatever you want,” I snapped at her. The knock on the door made me turn around this time.
“Come in!” I yelled.
