Chapter 1008

How was Hoxton going to look into the young man's identity?

Wearing a food delivery uniform, Hoxton stood by the road and looked at his phone, deep in thought. He was debating whether or not to share his source with Matthew.

Many things in life were like a house of cards-one wrong move and it all came crashing down. The problem was, once the secret was out, it just felt cheap and unimpressive.

Hoxton had many ways to hunt for information, like finding local interest groups online.

In the Northwest, there were all sorts of online groups-community help groups, dating groups, parenting groups, basketball groups, hiking groups, maid referral groups, security groups, and many others.

Hoxton just needed to post the photo of the young man in those groups, offer 5,000 dollars as a reward, and ask for his information. He knew from experience that it'd take less than an hour for someone to send the young man's info.

Hoxton contemplated for a while before making up his mind. "They're just some petty tricks. It's not worth mentioning, so I'll spare you the details to not embarrass myself. But trust me. I'll have his info by the end of the day."

Matthew stared at the message for some time. He was surprised that an assassin had his way to gather intel. He immediately sent a brief reply back. "I'll wait for your update."

Hoxton responded with an "Ok" emoji and then began asking around in the chat groups.

This time, he mainly posted his messages on pet groups, car repair groups, maid referral groups, security groups, and Homeowners Association Groups. The messages included a photo and a short text.

"Anyone here knows this person in the picture? He helped me out, but I don't even know his name. If anyone knows anything, hit me up right away. I'm offering 5 thousand dollars as a reward."

Three people gathered in the living room of the Fuller residence. A young man sat at the main seat.

Sitting next to the young man was an old man and a younger one, Leopold and Cameron Fuller. The latter was Leopold's grandson and 20 years old. His expression looked odd.

A few days ago, Cameron was having a blast overseas. His dad had spent a fortune sending him abroad to study. It wasn't until he got overseas that he realized he was in paradise.

Money could solve all the problems there. Back home, Cameron was afraid of his lecturers. But overseas, as long as he had the cash, even the hot teachers would end up in his bed.

He was pissed when he was asked to come back. But as soon as he got home, something didn't feel right. His dad didn't come to yell at him, and his uncles didn't bring him presents.

The vibe at home felt off. Everyone looked at Cameron differently than before. What was even more surprising was that a young man suddenly showed up at his house.

Leopold personally hosted the

young man at his house. He used to

hold all the power in the Fuller

family, but now he was acting all humble. Watching the scene unfold jogged Cameron's memory.

Every time Cameron's Dad refused to give him an allowance, he would turn to Leopold for cash Every time he needed pocket money, hed practically dropped to his knees and beg Leopold for it.

At that moment, Leopold was like the version of Cameron begging the money, and the young man was like Leopold, who used to be all-powerful.

Cameron felt like he was dreaming. This was Mistvale City where Leopold controlled everything in this northwest region.

Who was this young man? Why would Leopold lower himself like this?

Leopold offered a glass of wine with both hands and set it down in front of the young man. With a fawning smile, he said, "Enjoy, Mr. Connolly."

He had dedicated a bottle of Burgundy wine worth 10 thousand dollars for this occasion. Nobody knew how much he had paid for the Burgundy wine.

Leopold pulled every favor, but he only managed to get one bottle of it. He had planned to give it to a big shot, but now he used it to honor this special guest, Lorenzo Connoly.

The reason Lorenzo was special was because of their unique relationship. When Leopold looked. at him, Leopold felt a sense of joy, seeing how much his chin and eyes resembled Cameron.
