Chapter 1036
Matthew frowned. He'd killed all the attackers today, but why did it feel like the other party had emerged as the winning side?
He thought of his parents and daughter, who would have to face dangers
comparable to what they'd gone through today, and concluded that the other party had him by his Achilles' heel.
Delisnora Bay, huh? Had they set up a trap there? Did they think he'd go just because of this message? How moronic!
Matthew stuffed his phone into his pocket and headed into the yard, only to be
greeted by the sight of Caleb eating some watermelon.
Beside him, Lorraine fumed. "It's fine if you ate the watermelon, Mr. Murphy, but you gotta promise me something-stop gambling!"
Caleb said with a smile, "I'll listen to you and stop gambling in the future."
Lorraine said, "You know where you did wrong and are willing to change, so you're a good man. I won't shoo you out of here again."
Matthew smiled as he watched Lorraine and Caleb chat with each other.
Delisnora Bay was by the river, so everyone there could hear the sounds of its waters flowing. Under the sunset, a gust of wind blew, rustling the leaves.
Several tourists were taking pictures by the bay when three cars suddenly stopped close by. A few men alighted from the cars and made their way over to the car at the head of their procession.
Dylan opened the door and said respectfully, "We're here, Mr. Connolly."
Lorenzo looked at the tourists and said impatiently, "Shoo them out of here."
Dylan nodded. He and a few men walked toward the tourists and started driving them away. A tourist questioned them indignantly, "What right do you have to do this? You don't own this bay, do you?"
Dylan smiled. "I'm sorry. This place is occupied today, so come again another day."
The tourist shook his head. "I drove 100 miles here today. I'm going to buy a house somewhere far away, so I won't be able to come back here.
"Also, your group isn't that large. This bay can fit a hundred more people. There's no point in you driving us away."
Dylan's family was based in Lambda City, so he didn't want the situation to escalate that badly for fear that this would ruin his family's reputation.
He was about to explain why when Lorenzo said, "What are you explaining to them for? Tell them to scram, and beat them up if they refuse!"
The tourist was infuriated upon hearing his voice. He roared, "What right do you have to do this? Who do you think you are?"
Lorenzo was in no mood to reply. He said to Dylan, "Are you dead? Do something!"
"You're damn useless," he continued. "You don't need to explain to these lowlifes why you're shooing them out of here. Just fucking toss them into the river if they say no!
Sensing Lorenzo's rage, Dylan knew he had no choice but to do something. He suddenly grabbed
one of the tourists by the hainands dragged him to the riverside
Freaked out, the man screamed, "I got the message, okay? Stop this! I'll get out of here now!"
When his action proved effective, Dylan let go of the man, bellowing, "Get yourself out of here if you don't wanna die!"
The tourists scrambled away in panic.
Dylan headed to the car and said deferentially, "I cleared the venue, Mr. Connolly. You can get out of the car now."
Lorenzo got out of the car, straightening himself up before
turning to look at Dylan. "Are you so inept that you don't even know how to drive away a few civilians?
Dylan said awkwardly, "Uh, I was worried that they'd make a scene."
Lorenzo snapped, "What scene?"
