Chapter 944
Matthew heard Timothy's barking but said nothing. He bent down, picked up the fallen cooler, and placed it on the surgical table.
He turned to Pierre and said, "The kid's gone. At least put his liver back so he can have a complete body."
Pierre's hands trembled as he held the cooler. "I-I can't believe it. Maddick was a healthy young man, and they just ripped his liver out like it was nothing. How could they be so cruel?"
Matthew sighed, knowing no words could ease this pain, but still offered quietly, "I'm sorry for your loss."
"Why?" Devin collapsed to the floor, sobbing. "Maddock was perfectly healthy. Why did they take his liver? Why?"
Timothy quickly signaled at Dean and gestured toward the doors. Dean understood immediately they were going to silence everyone.
He locked the doors and returned to Timothy's side, whispering, "Should we do it now?"
Timothy opened his mouth to reply but winced as the movement pulled at the wound on his face. He hissed in pain, his expression darkening with rage. He snarled, "Not yet. I want him to kneel and apologize first."
"Hey, you heard Dr. Fern!" Dean barked at Matthew. "Get on your knees and apologize!"
Matthew was amused by their audacity. "Fuck off! Why should I apologize to someone who steals organs from the living-you're a goddamn monster!"
Timothy froze for a moment before breaking into maniacal laughter, blood seeping from his facial wounds as his features twisted.
"Ha! You're right! I am a monster! That's exactly what I am, and that's exactly what I want to be!"
"You've lost your mind," Matthew said, staring at him like he was looking at a lunatic. He had never encountered someone so deranged.
Timothy sneered, his eyes glinting with twisted pride. "I'm not crazy at all; I'm more clear-headed than ever.
"Growing up, my father said hard work would make me successful. In school, teachers said the same thing. At work, my bosses repeated it.
"I worked my ass off my entire life
and got nothing. I remained dirt poor. My girlfriend left me for someone richer. I still couldnt afford a house.
"Then I finally realized it was all lies. Once I started bribing people and kissing ass, I got promoted within a year when management told me makemoney, I squeezed every penny from patients. The money came pouring in like a river.
"I finally understood," Timothy's voice rose as he continued. "Hard work doesn't make you successful exploiting people does.
"I'd rather be a monster who feeds on others than a fool who works himself to death!"
Matthew stood stunned for a moment, almost seeing a twisted logic in Timothy's words before realizing how utterly wrong it was.
"So you got rich by becoming a monster. Did you ever think about what you did to others?"
"Do you think I care about others?", Timothy cackled. "You naive fool People like you are just stepping stones for people like me That's reality!"
