Chapter 968
Rebecca had a strong prejudice against traditional medicine. She only knew two traditional medicine practitioners—Carson and Pierre.
Carson was her husband, and Pierre was Carson's friend. They were both doing poorly in this field.
Even though Rebecca asked about how well Matthew was doing, she'd already made assumptions about him. He was probably not as bad as Carson but still not great.
Meanwhile, her simple question made Carson think about his perception of Matthew again.
As the president of the doctor's association, Francis boasted about making 300 thousand dollars a month at the hospital.
After that, he learned about Matthew's monthly income of 20 million dollars, and how he had saved Casper. He just straight-up dropped to his knees.
Matthew's medical skills were beyond just good. In Carson's view, he was a miracle doctor.
At first, Carson wasn't a fan of the title "miracle doctor" because he found it exaggerating. None of the doctors he had met deserved it.
But at this point, Carson had a change of heart. He finally found a person worthy to carry the title.
Carson was so excited to meet Matthew. When Rebecca asked how good Matthew was, he sounded all fired up as he raised his volume.
"He's a miracle doctor and the best I've ever seen. Even someone like Francis, a renowned professor, dropped to his knees before him."
Rebecca chuckled. "You're really laying it on thick to make him look good. How much does he earn a month compared to a professor? Is he even on the same level?
"Forget about it. Asking you is a waste of time. Let me ask him directly."
After saying that, Rebecca turned to Matthew. "How much do you make a month?"
Frowning, Matthew nonchalantly responded, "Two-"
Rebecca's eyes went wide open, looking at Matthew in shock. "Only two grand, huh? Is that all? How impressive can your medical skills be?"
Matthew clicked his tongue. He assumed Rebecca was merely a bossy woman, but he noticed something special about her. She came off as a fiery woman, but she was also a loving wife.
She came off quite strong in her words and actions, but it was all for Carson. Undoubtedly, she was much better than Tessa, Matthew's ex-wife.
Matthew had no idea how to approach Rebecca. He didn't know where to begin.
Standing at the side, Carson got up to his feet and shouted at Rebecca. "It isn't two grand. It's a whopping 20 million dollars."
Rebecca's eyes slowly grew wider to the point where they looked like they were about to pop right out of her head.
She looked at Matthew in disbelief. "How is that even possible? How could a traditional medicine practitioner earn 20 million dollars a month?"
Seeing Rebecca's jaw drop, Carson got even more pumped. "It's not 20 million dollars a month. It's 20 million dollars per treatment."
That was a lot for one treatment, wasn't it?
Rebecca looked stunned. "Can you really make that much for one consultation? Is that true?"
It wasn't that she didn't trust Carson, but the amount was so outrageous she couldn't wrap her head around it.
Carson had anticipated this reaction from Rebecca. "I knew you'd doubt it, but it's true Francis, the president of the doctor s association is th one who paid for Casper's treatment."
Rebecca was thrown for a loop again. "Even the president of the doctor's
association approached Matthew for his father's treatment. I—"
Carson saw the look of shock and amazement on Rebecca's face. He sported a smug look, as though it was his medical skills that worthed 20 min dollars You believe met now, right?"
Rebecca looked at Carson's expression and snorted. "Get down on your knees."
Puzzled, Carson fixed his gaze on Rebecca. "I'm telling the truth. Why do I have to kneel?"
"Drop to your knees!" Rebecca snarled. Her voice sounded like an angry lioness, cutting through the air.
Carson dropped to his knees, looking a little defensive. "I'm not lying to you, Rebecca. Why should I kneel?"
Rebecca pointed at Matthew and
yelled at Carson. "Face him! Why are you facing me? You've always-
wanted to improve your medical
skills, right? Kneel and beg him to teach you."
Carson was taken aback. He immediately changed the direction he faced and dropped to his knees in front of Matthew. "I want to learn from you, Mr. Grant."
Watching the scene unfold, Matthew was utterly bewildered. Undeniably, Rebecca was a great wife despite her fiery temper. She was genuinely planning things out for Carson.
However, Matthew couldn't take Carson as his apprentice, because he already had Mason as one.
