Matthew couldn't help but feel touched-only Stanley would be so kind. At this point, there was one more person out there for him.

Still, he didn't want Nicholas to take the fall for him. "I'm just afraid and worried, Mr. Hanson. I don't plan to shift the blame away, and I'll own up to it if it doesn't work out."

Ansel quietly watched Matthew and Nicholas talking to each other. Seeing them both trying to shoulder it, he inadvertently broke into a smile.

They had a long chat, discussing the details of uniting the Eight Medical Sects. The conversation ended two hours later, and Matthew called Pierre over.

"I've got a new apprentice, Mr. Hanson. I need to head home to take care of something, so can you teach him medicine for me?"

Nicholas gave Pierre a once-over and coldly asked, "Are you afraid of death?"

Pierre's expression turned pale when the question was asked. In particular, Nicholas' intense gaze was enough to send chills down his spine.

He didn't dare to look Nicholas in the eye, shifting his gaze to the table. He softly responded with another question, "Will it be dangerous?"

Nicholas grimly replied, "It's dangerous. It could even kill you."

Pierre turned to Matthew. "I can handle hardship, and I'm willing to put in the effort, Mr. Grant. But I don't want to risk my life."

Matthew was speechless. He knew Nicholas was trying to scare Pierre, so he just waved his hand. "Stay here for now. Check out the books from the Medieval Sect. Feel free to ask me if you need help."

After Pierre walked away, Matthew turned to Nicholas. "If you don't want to teach him, just say it. Why freak him out, Mr. Hanson?"

Nicholas coldly replied, "Teach your own apprentice, or don't take one in the first place."

Matthew thought it over and agreed with Nicholas. "Alright. I'll teach him myself." After saying that, he waved his hand and left.

Walking out of Opulent Club, Matthew Stood in the square, watching the bustling street. It felt like everything that had happened on the north floor was just a dream as if head traveled to another world

Things would be different if Matthew didn't go to prison. He wouldn't get to learn medicine and martial arts from Nicholas. He'd probably live a simple life like the pedestrians.on the street working and raising their kids.

But he ended up walking a different path in life, and it was a dangerous one. Matthew was all about a calm and peaceful life, and the last thing he wanted was to jeopardize it.

But many memories came rushing back to him. A doctor at the hospital made up stories, lying to the students that they needed surgery. However, it was all just a cover to steal their organs.

Then, there was the Carling family possessing the medical techniques of the Presetian Sect, but none of the younger Carlings were willing to practice it.

Next, the Fuller family locked away the cures in a safe and refused to use them to save lives. Last but not least, the Eastorians had a list of

tradit medicine practitioners.

Who had been killed, under a statue.

Everything strengthened Matthew's resolve for his future. No matter how rough the future got, he was willing to fight for the rise of traditional medicine.

Once his mind was set, he felt much lighter on his feet. After glancing at his watch, Matthew started driving toward Gembrooke Building.

A coffee shop was right across Gembrooke Building. Inside, wearing a pair of gloves, Tessa gently stirred her coffee with a spoon, and it clinked against the cup. An hour went by, and her coffee was already cold, but Matthew still hadn't shown up.

After two hours, she was starting to lose her patience. She gripped the spoon so tightly that it started to bend, but Matthew was still nowhere to be seen.

Tessa was about to get up and leave when a car suddenly pulled up and stopped outside Gembrooke Building. The car door opened, and a man stepped out.

It was Matthew! Tessa jumped to her feet, knocking the wicker chair over due to her sudden movement.

But she couldn't care less about picking up the chair right now. She hurried out of the coffee shop and walked toward Matthew.
