Chapter 1027

Miss Josefina: Nobody's Princess · Dana E.

Bennett never dreamed things would turn into such a delightful misunderstanding. The manager was just as taken aback. With her wealth of experience, she knew expensive jewelry wasn't typically meant for the young lady before her. She was quietly enjoying the drama, but had to step in.

"Mr. Oliver, the jewelry you ordered is ready. Please take a look, and if all's good, I'll head back to the store," she said.

Brandon glanced towards the door, a smile naturally spreading across his face. "Josie, perfect timing. The custom wedding gift I ordered for you has arrived. Check it out and see if it's to your liking. If not, Manager Tang can take it back for adjustments."

Manager Tang's eyes automatically darted to Josefina. Oliver helped her out of her long coat, revealing a mint-green sweater and light-wash jeans. Her messy bun was perfectly tousled, a blend of chaos and style. Her face was radiant, eyes sparkling with life. Manager Tang had only one thought: such dazzling jewels deserved a beauty like her. And as for Sandi... well, she was alright on her own, but next to Josefina, she just couldn't compete.

Putting on a more attentive smile, Manager Tang said, "Ms. Josefina, please have a look." She opened the jewelry box, revealing brilliant gemstones that dazzled, immediately catching Sandi's eye. That pink diamond had to be at least 20 carats, right?

"Grandpa, didn't I tell you there's no need for custom jewelry? Yet you've ordered it anyway," Josefina said with a touch of exasperation. She wasn't trying to be ungrateful; she genuinely hadn't planned on receiving it. Plus, she was aware of Sandi's shifting emotions. Bringing it out now wasn't the best timing, as it might stir up envy.

Oliver closed the jewelry box lid. "Josie, this is our wedding gift, a present from Grandpa. Just accept it."

Rowan added, "You're the first of the Baldwin family youngsters to get married. Your grandpa's thrilled."

Josefina's eyes widened in surprise, then she smiled warmly. "Thank you, Grandpa."

"Don't mention it. We're all family."

With the customers satisfied, Manager Tang knew it was her cue to leave.

...

The family gathered around the

table. Brandon spoke with affection, "Wilder, Ning Ning, when you two get married, Grandpa wil have wedding gift for you too." No one could argue with gifts for weddings. If you wanted a gift, well, you'd

better get married.

Oliver was busy helping Josefina with her food, while she focused on eating, leaving the talking to others.

Cole smiled politely. "Dad, my three kids are more marriage-shy with each generation, showing no interest in tying the knot. Honestly, Oliver is their role model. Look at how loving Oliver and Josefina are."

"Wilder, you're right. Oliver and Josie are already married. Wilder, Ning Ning, feel free to date. We, as your elders are open-minded and won't pressure you into marriage just because you're in a relationship. Marriage is a big decision and should be made with careful thought."

Rowan listened quietly, reflecting on his own whirlwind marriage with Sydney, which had almost been a disaster. He kept his head down, focusing on his meal, avoiding the topic-it hit too close to home.

Under the table, Josefina gently

touched Qliver's leg. Oliver looked at

her, puzzled. He leaned slightly

towards her, his voice soft and filled

الد

with affection Joste,

ut it out This

is a table, not a bed."

Thankfully, the Baldwin family's dining table was large enough that their conversation went unnoticed. Josefina chuckled, exasperated. "Oliver, have you forgotten the main issue?"

Oliver's handsome face showed a moment of confusion, then he finally understood what Josefina was hinting at.
