Chapter 572

Miss Josefina: Nobody's Princess · Dana E.

"Josie."

The familiar voice caught Josefina off guard.

"Oliver, what are you doing here?"

"Jack tipped me off," Oliver replied, always keeping tabs on anything involving Josefina.

Together, they walked inside, arriving at Lena's hospital room.

...

Lena lay in the bed, her face pale and gaunt, looking like she was on death's doorstep.

Jack said, "After lunch today, Lena threw up and even coughed up some blood."

Josefina approached, took a seat by the bed, and reached out to check Lena's pulse.

Suddenly, Lena's hand shot out from under the covers, clutching a shard of porcelain.

Josefina reacted quickly, but Oliver was faster, sweeping her up by the waist and pulling her back.

Josefina was unharmed, and Oliver swiftly kicked the porcelain shard away.

Jack jumped at the commotion.

"Damn it, how did she get a piece of broken porcelain?"

That's when Jack remembered the lunchtime incident. Lena had thrown a fit,

demanding spaghetti bolognese. Eventually, they had someone bring her a bowl of

it.

But as she ate, Lena had an episode and dropped the bowl, which shattered on the floor.

It was then she must have hidden a piece of the broken bowl, ready to use it against Josefina.

Lena slumped at the edge of the bed, looking utterly defeated.

She glared at Josefina with fury. "I didn't manage to kill you; you sure are one lucky lady."

Josefina smirked, "Indeed, my luck does seem to be better than yours."

Lena spat blood, her condition visibly worsening.

Oliver's voice was icy, "Maybe we should finish her off now. She's not giving us any useful information, and she's better off dead."

Lena let out a bitter laugh, her voice dripping with scorn and confidence. "Oliver, Josefina wouldn't dare let me die. She wants to extract secrets from me, she won't let me go that easily."

Josefina chuckled lightly. "Really? Lena, do you actually think you're that valuable?"

Lena refused to believe Josefina's

words. Propping herself up, she

stared malevolently at Josefina.

"Josefina, you plan to hypnotize me, don't you? To pry out whatever information you can?"

Josefina, seated comfortably, eyed Lena. "Do you seriously think you're that important? Lena, do you know why you started coughing up blood during the hypnosis?"

"Why?"

"Because someone planted a hex inside you. The moment you outlive your usefulness, it will consume your insides."

Lena was stunned; she couldn't bring herself to believe Josefina's claim.

That person had been so good to her; how could they want to harm her?

Shaking her head, Lena, now agitated, coughed up more blood.

"Josefina, you won't fool me!"

"You know the truth deep down. After you were caught, no one came to rescue you."

Lena roared, "He would be walking into a trap if he tried to save me!"

"And what about your condition?" Josefina said with a laugh. "Don't you feel excruciating pain in your insides? Not just now, but the whole time you've been bedridden, it's been torture, hasn't it? Lena, you're only footing yourself."

Josefina stood up. "Jack, there's no use trying to get information from her. Do what needs to be done."

There was no point in keeping Lena alive.

Such a person wasted the air they breathed and would waste the ground they'd be buried in.

As Josefina and Oliver walked out, Lena's eyes widened in horror, and she yelled at the top of her lungs, "Josefina, Josefina, come back here!"
