Chapter 575

Miss Josefina: Nobody's Princess · Dana E.

Grant had never met anyone quite like Oliver-arrogant and shameless through and through. But there he was, all grins, the kind that leaves you at a loss for words.

"Josie, the seafood here is pretty good. Take a look and see what catches your eye," Oliver said, sliding up next to Josefina, sharing a menu with her.

Anyone passing by could see it clear as day-Oliver and Josefina looked like a couple of lovebirds.

Josefina browsed the menu and picked a few items. Looking up, she said to Grant, "Hey Grant, why don't you check out the menu and pick whatever you like?"

Oliver chimed in, "Grant, this place isn't too shabby. Josie and I come here pretty often."

Grant stayed silent. Was Oliver trying to rub it in?

Glancing over the menu, Grant ordered a couple of dishes. "Rosa, you love shrimp, right? Wonder if they're as fresh as the ones from Rose Bay Island."

The seafood from Rose Bay Island was legendary for its freshness; it was practically from the ocean to the plate.

"The seafood here's pretty good," Josefina said with a smile.

Oliver then ordered a bottle of red wine, and the waiter poured them each a glass. "No wine for my lady," Oliver instructed.

He leaned in and whispered to Josefina, "Josie, stick with juice tonight. I've got some orange juice coming your way. Don't want you feeling off in a couple of days. Need some warm water instead?"

Josefina's cheeks turned a deep red, instantly getting his hint. Her period was due tomorrow, and drinking wasn't wise. Slightly embarrassed, she pinched Oliver's leg, "Quit it, will you?"

Watching the couple's sweet exchanges, Grant felt a pang of... something.

"I'm off to the restroom," he mumbled, standing up to leave. He couldn't bear to watch any longer, afraid he'd lose his grip on his emotions.

Once Grant was gone, Josefina frowned, "Was that necessary, Oliver? It's not cool, you know."

"Josie, I swear it wasn't on purpose. My care for you, it's all heart," Oliver replied earnestly.

Josefina was at a loss for words.

Then the hot water arrived. Oliver took a sip first before offering it to Josefina, his voice dripping with indulgence, "Drink up some warm water, will you, darling?"

"You've already had some," she pointed out.

Leaning in close, his voice was a soft caress, "I'm just testing the temperature for you, Josie."

Josefina was speechless. "Oliver, I'm not a child. I don't need you to check the water temperature," she said, her embarrassment palpable.

"Even if you're not a child, I still want

to take good care of you. And even

when we've got kids of our gwn you'll always be number one, the most important person to me," Oliver professed.

Josefina was silent. "Can you be serious for a moment?"

"I am serious, Josie. You've seen what I'm like when I'm not serious, and this isn't it, right?"

Josefina couldn't respond. "Oliver, you're such a smooth talker."

Oliver was left speechless.

At that moment, Grant returned, and

their dishes were served. Oliver tasted a steamed shrimp finding its flavor nearly indistinguishable from those he'd savored on Rose Bay Island.

It dawned on Grant that Josie didn't need to return to Rose Bay Island to

enjoy exquisite seafood. With

Grant's emotions were tangled—a mix of complexity and sorrow. Noticing Grant's

mood, Josefina asked in a soft voice, "Grant, is the seafood not sitting well with

you?"
