Chapter 574
Oliver chuckled, eyes gleaming with mischief. Grant sure had some nerve.
Josie was meant to be his and his alone.
Their gazes locked-one icy and ruthless, the other wild and untamed. Neither looked like they played well with others.
At that moment, Josefina stepped out.
Seeing the two men, she hurriedly greeted, "Hey Oliver, and hey to you too, Clint."
Just moments ago, these two had been eyeing each other like mortal enemies, but now their faces broke into smiles.
"Josie, I got you some iced tea," Oliver said as he pulled a cup from his pocket and handed it to Josefina.
Grant wasn't about to be outdone. He presented a bouquet to Josefina with a flourish, "Rosa, these are for you."
Both men had gifts in hand, leaving Josefina at a loss over which to accept first.
Seizing the moment, Oliver stuffed the iced tea into Josefina's arms and, while Grant was momentarily dumbstruck, snatched the flowers from his grasp.
"Grant, Josie can't carry all this stuff. Let me hold onto the bouquet for her," said Oliver with a sly grin.
Grant was speechless.
That Oliver, crafty as a fox with more tricks up his sleeve than a street magician! Fuming, Grant protested, "Oliver, those flowers were for Rosa."
Oliver responded with a smirk, "I'm Josie's boyfriend. Isn't it normal for me to help her out with these things?"
Under Grant's seething gaze, Oliver feigned innocence, "Oh, I forgot. You wouldn't know what that's like since you're flying solo."
Grant was at boiling point!
Josefina, sensing the mounting tension, quickly intervened, "Let's just go eat. I'm starving."
Grant eagerly chimed in, "Rosa, I'll ride with you."
Oliver interjected, "You're taking my car. Drove over a nice one just for you to get acquainted with. You're without wheels in Westwood, right? Consider it yours for the day."
Grant clenched his teeth in frustration, "No thanks!"
"Oh, you don't need a ride?" Oliver teased.
Through gritted teeth, Grant retorted, "No, I don't. I can ride with Josie, hail a cab, or even hop on a bike."
Josefina facepalmed, realizing these two were never going to play nice.
"Can we just get going? I'm really hungry."
At her words, Oliver grabbed Grant by the shoulder and half-dragged, half-shoved
him into the passenger seat.
Grant was astounded.
Oliver gave Josefina an 'ok' sign and
said
ahead, dosie. I've booked
as a spot ll send the details to your phone."
Grant tried to open the door, but Oliver had already locked it.
"Oliver, you've got some nerve!"
"Grant, look who's talking. You know full well Josie's with me. What are you even doing here? The nerve
yousing after her you're the
third wheel! You get that? Nobody likes a homewrecker."
Grant took a deep breath and shot back, "Oliver, talk about nervel Rosa
isn't married to you I have every
right to pursue her!"
Oliver started the car, "Playing the third wheel and you still won't own up to it!"
He drove off, catching up with Josefina's car.
Soon, the trio arrived at the restaurant.
Oliver had made a reservation and told the manager he needed exactly three seats -not one more.
As they neared their table, Oliver grabbed Josefina's hand and swiftly led her to their seats.
Josefina took the inside seat, and he sat on the outside.
Across from them, there was just one chair left.
Grant stood there, his face a mixture of annoyance and disbelief.
Oliver, you cheeky devil.
