Chapter 585
When Josefina arrived at the office, Kale approached her with an urgent look. "Ms. Josefina, someone wants a custom suit from you. He says money is no object."
Josefina's curiosity was piqued. Who could this be?
"Send him up to my office."
She made her way to her office, the mystery gnawing at her. Soon after, a figure walked in.
Josefina kept her composure, though inside she was brimming with curiosity. Why on earth was Dominic here?
As Josefina locked eyes with Dominic, she offered a polite smile. "Please, take a seat."
Dominic settled into the chair, and Kale breezed in with two steaming cups of coffee before excusing himself.
"I'm Dominic," he began, his voice smooth as silk. "From the Baldwin family. I'm here to commission a suit, tailored by you personally."
Josefina responded with practiced calm. "I'm sorry, but we're swamped with work at the moment. I don't have the time to design personally. However, one of our excellent designers could certainly assist you."
Dominic flashed a grin, his demeanor as sunny as a California beach. "I can wait for when you're available."
Josefina hadn't expected Dominic to seek her out for a suit. What was his angle? Was he trying to get close to her, perhaps to strike at Oliver?
With these thoughts spinning in her head, she said, "I'm truly tied up, and time is a luxury I don't have right now."
Dominic's expression remained relaxed, still smiling. "Then I'll wait in line. When you have time, you'll make my suit."
"Alright," Josefina conceded with a nod. With Dominic putting it that way, further refusal seemed churlish.
"Do we need to take measurements now?" Dominic inquired.
"No need for now. When I call you in, that means I'll have the time. Then we'll discuss styles and start the design process."
"Great, I'll be looking forward to it."
...
After Dominic teft, without the victory he'd hoped for, Josefina pondered the day's events but didn't call Oliver. Dominic's request was just about the suit, nothing more. Felling Oliver would only lead him to confront Dominic.
Instead, she picked up her phone and called Luke. "Hey Monkey, dig up when Dominic got back to Westwood. What's he been up to abroad?"
"Will do, boss," came the eager reply.
Just then, a video popped up on her phone.
"Boss, gotta hand it to Oliver. He's swift and sharp," Monkey exclaimed. "Ruby's fled Westwood, and Oliver's men have been escorting her all the way to Billy's. These two are at each other's throats so much, they're living in a war zone."
Josefina hadn't expected Oliver to orchestrate such a maneuver.
"Just get on with your task," she said, ending the call.
She opened the video. Ruby and Billy looked gaunt, their faces covered in soot and despair, like eggplants left out in the frost. Their living conditions were dire. They were in for a rough ride.
...
Unbeknownst to Josefina, Oliver had also arranged for a message to be delivered to Lauren in prison, showing the video of Ruby and Billy's squalid life. Lauren was overcome with rage and fainted, nearly passing away.
When she awoke, she was a tempest of emotion, desperate to get out, claiming someone was out to harm her daughter. Every day, Lauren was lost in frantic worry, wondering how long Rubymight survive, or if Billy might be her end.
