Josefina tried to calm her mother, "Mom, don't worry. Grandma's going to be fine. I've already arranged for a friend to bring some medical supplies and medicines to the hospital. Once we get there, I'll check up on her myself."

She added, "Grandma's been good about taking her meds lately, so that should help keep her stable. Seriously, don't stress."

Hattie nodded, though she looked a bit pale. "Having you here, Josie, makes me feel a little better."

Garrett chimed in, "Let's get to the hospital and see what's going on."

When they arrived at the hospital, Evan was already there.

As soon as Evan saw them, he rushed over. "The doctor just told us that Mom's condition is really bad. She might not make it through the day. After she left your place, she didn't want to go back home, so I had her stay with us in Westwood. But then she got a phone call and collapsed right after. I brought her here immediately." Evan's panic was clear, showing just how serious the situation was.

"Where's Grandma? I want to see her," Josefina said.

"Josie, the doctors are still working on her. It's better if you wait," Evan tried to stop her.

"I'm a doctor, Uncle. I need to see her," Josefina insisted.

"You are not going in!"

Mandy rushed over, scoffing, "What can you possibly do? You're just a med student, and now you're claiming to be a doctor?"

Mandy stepped between Ayala and Evan. "Dad, she's full of it. Trusting Grandma's life to her is irresponsible!"

Ayala responded, "Mandy, don't speak nonsense. Your aunt told me Josie does have medical skills."

"I could claim to save lives too, but would you let me? Talk is cheap," Mandy retorted, clearly unimpressed.

Neither Ayala nor Evan had seen Josefina in action, so they were naturally skeptical.

As for Mandy, even if Alivia's meds were made by Josefina, she remained unconvinced because she hadn't seen Josefina make them.

Josefina's credibility was taking a hit in their eyes.

Hattie, clearly angry, said, "Mandy, how do you know Josie isn't a doctor? Did you see it with your own eyes? You're so sure about

something you didn't witness. Who taught you to judge like that?"

Mandy felt cornered by the accusation and Hattie continued, "The pills my mother took were made by Josie herself. How did

do after taking them Mandy Are you not aware? If it weren't for those pitts Josie gave her, how could Grandma have survived today's ordeal?"

Hattie then fixed her gaze on Evan. "Evan, tell me, who do you believe? Mandy or us?"

Evan was at a loss for words.

Josefina pressed on, "Move aside, or if anything happens to my mom, I won't forgive you!"

Hattie's commanding presence made Evan and Ayala instinctively step aside.

After all, Hattie was their financial support.

Mandy stepped forward, arms wide,
