Chapter 667
Reid stepped forward with a shove, pushing Mandy aside.
"Are you out of your mind? Do you think this is some kind of show? Josie, she can
heal people, I've seen it myself! And about Lena, we'll explain everything to Grandma ourselves. Waste one more minute, and I'll have you charged with manslaughter!"
Mandy was in shock.
How had Reid changed too? Why was everyone acting so different?
"Reid, do you really trust her that much?"
"Josie's my sister, of course, I trust her. Keep up this nonsense, and if something happens to Grandma, you'll be the one behind bars."
Garrett was fuming. "Should I call the cops now? Let them talk some sense into you?"
Ayala pulled Mandy aside, knowing Mandy wasn't a match for the Harrison family.
"Reid, Mandy's just being childish, don't stoop to her level. Let Josie in already, saving lives is what matters."
As Mandy was led away, Josefina carried her medical kit inside.
Reid followed her, carrying her bag. "Sis, I'll talk to Ellory about this."
"Reid, my friend has already made arrangements. You go back and keep an eye on Mandy; I worry she might cause trouble. Also, have a word with our uncle about Lena."
Reid nodded. "Sis, leave it to me, I'll handle it."
Walking back, Reid made sure they were alone before he spilled the beans.
Hattie said, "Dorian, remember last year when you told me I looked pale and should see an alternative medicine practitioner? Turned out, the practitioner Lena recommended said I was anemic. But actually, I'd been poisoned!"
Garrett added, "I've already called the police. You can check these facts at the station. We've had our medical exams, and the reports are there. I even went to multiple hospitals as proof."
Reid confessed, "I've been away from home, so my symptoms are milder."
Evan and Ayala were stunned, unable to believe it.
Ayala murmured, "But Lena was such a dutiful child. Grandma always praised her for being so caring, even said Lena put up with her spitting up that one time."
Hattie interjected, "I asked the
maids, and they told me that day Lena came back, she bought disinfectants. They overheard Lena complaining, saying hit was win my mom's favor, she wouldn't have put up with that spit. Just thinking about it disgusts her."
Evan and Ayala were speechless.
Mandy, however, refused to believe it. "Impossible, Lena's not like that; you're just slandering her!"
"Whether we're slandering her or not, ask the police," Reid retorted coldly.
Mandy still couldn't believe Lena was at fault, as she had always been nice in her company.
Ayala shook her head, "Mandy, looks can be deceiving. I never thought Lena could do such a thing either, but your aunt wouldn't lie to us about this."
Mandy insisted, "How could she not lie? Blood ties and non-blood ties are different after all."
Hattie shook her head in
disappointment, "Mandy, you say we've changed, but you're the one who's changed the most! What does being blood related matter? Our family could take care of a hundred Lenas without breaking a sweat! We care for pets with affection, let alone someone we've raised for eighteen years!"
Garrett, infuriated, said, "Mandy, you're betraying the love your aunt has shown you! Our family has been so good to you, and yet you still doubt us? Our wealth could support a hundred Lenas with ease! And why would we bother harming her when the hardest times are over, and she's grown up enough to work?"
