Chapter 699
Brandon was just about to take a sip of water when Dominic hit him with a question.
Without a word, Brandon set his glass down, glanced at Josefina, then back at Dominic, and said evenly, "Dominic, it's not that I don't want to help you, but I can't force someone against their will. Besides, Josie tried before, right? Wasn't it your mom who refused her treatment? If Josie goes again and can't fix your mom's leg, with your mom's temper, she might sue Josie, don't you think?"
Josefina, who had been silent up until now, really wanted to give Brandon a round of applause.
Grandpa Brandon nailed it!
"Dominic, what Grandpa Brandon said is exactly how I feel. I've been to the hospital before, and Shay was there too, stopping me from treating your mom. I've heard Shay's into medicine as well; I believe she can take care of your mom's leg too."
Dominic was at a loss for words.
He hadn't expected that even bringing over ginseng wouldn't sway Brandon to his side.
After all that effort, was he really going to leave empty-handed?
Dominic couldn't accept it. He frowned and said, "Ms. Josefina, I'm truly sorry about this. I sincerely ask for your help with my mother's treatment. As for the fee, you name it."
Josefina chuckled, "Ten billion?"
Dominic choked, his eyes pleading with Brandon for help.
Brandon, pretending not to notice, focused his gaze on Oliver and Josefina instead.
Oliver snorted with laughter, "Is ten billion a lot? Compared to your mom's leg, is it really that much?"
Dominic's anger flared, but he forcefully suppressed it.
On any other day, the glass in front of him would have already shattered.
Dominic forced a smile, saying to Josefina, "Ten billion is indeed a lot, and I don't have that much money How about this. I'll have Shay come over personally to apologize to your and then give you one billion How does that sound?"
Josefina's eyes sparkled at the idea of getting Shay to apologize to her. That sounded good!
"Are you sure Shay would agree to this?"
Dominic hurriedly said, "She will definitely agree. If she's done something wrong, she should apologize. Ms. Josefina, please give me a moment, I'll call Shay."
Josefina hummed in acknowledgment, and Dominic stepped outside with his phone.
When he explained the situation to Shay, who had been lounging in bed, she sprang up, fuming, "Dominic are you trying to embarrass me?!. Why should apologize to that little tramp Josefina? Don't you know how much I despise her? Dominic, you're doing this on purpose!"
Dominic's face turned steely, "Shay, don't you want to see mom walking again? Think about it! This is your chance. If you can cure mom's leg and get her on her feet, do it!"
Shay thought of Sydney, her expression dimming.
"I understand," Shay said through gritted teeth.
Dominic then said, "I'll go back in and ask Josefina when would be a good time for you to apologize. I'll contact you on the phone after."
Hanging up, Dominic re-entered the room.
"Shay agreed. She said she wants to apologize to you too, for what happened last time. That was her mistake."
Josefina raised an eyebrow, curious about how Dominic managed to convince Shay to lower her pride.
"Alright, tomorrow then. Have her
wait at your front door to apologize to me. After that's done, I'll take a look at your mom's feg But let me make it clear, I can't guarantee a cure."
Dominic, smiling, said, "I believe in you. You can definitely do it. I'll send a car to
pick you up tomorrow, and have Shay waiting for you at the door."
"No need, I can drive myself. See you then."
