Just as Josefina finished speaking, the police arrived, right on cue. Thanks to her timely intervention, Haylee hadn't lost a thing, and the thief was promptly hauled away by the cops.

Throughout the whole ordeal, Joelle stayed silent, still struggling to wrap her head around the fact that Josefina had swooped in like some kind of hero.

Seeing Joelle's glum expression and the doubt in her eyes, Josefina turned to Haylee and said, "I've got to go, something's come up." With that, she hopped on her bike and sped off.

As Haylee watched Josefina ride away, she turned to Joelle and gushed, "Josie is just too cool! Sunny, did you see her motorcycle? It's absolutely badass!"

Joelle, glued to her phone, was floored when she saw the bike's price tag—a staggering fifty thousand dollars. "How on earth is Josefina so rich?" she wondered aloud.

She showed Haylee the screen. “Josefina's bike is insanely expensive. I had no idea she had that kind of money."

"Sunny, it's obvious Josie comes from a wealthy family. She's smart, beautiful, has incredible medical skills, and just oozes class," Haylee replied.

Joelle was at a loss for words.

"Haylee, why do you keep praising Josefina? Is that all you can talk about?" she snapped.

"Sunny, I'm just telling the truth. Josie really is amazing, and she helped me out today. I owe her a dinner when we get back to school," Haylee responded.

Feeling frustrated, Joelle walked ahead, with Haylee quickly catching up.

"Sunny, why are you mad? Everything was fine just a moment ago, wasn't it?"

When Josefina arrived at Alivia's hospital room, she found Hattie there as well. This time, Alivia greeted her with a warm and welcoming smile, a stark contrast to her previous attitude.

"Josie, you're here! Is it hot outside? Want some ice cream? There's still some in the fridge," Alivia said, smiling.

Josefina took a seat. "No, thanks."

Alivia's complete 180 in attitude brought a sigh of relief to Hattie.

"Mom, you should've been like this from the start. Josie is so caring and understanding, truly my little guardian angel. If you weren't my mom, I wouldn't even fet Josie come over."

Alivia laughed awkwardly. "Hattie, Josie, I realize my mistakes now. I've come to deeply understand where I was wrong."

"Grandma, I've been working on an experiment with a friend. In a few days, we'll be able to remove the parasites from your body. You need to go to bed early and rise e early,

“Evie, you're looking pale. Did you stay up late, or have you not been eating well?” Alivia asked, concerned.

Noticing Evan's condition too, Josefina stood up and suggested, "Uncle, take a seat. Let me check your pulse and see what's going on.”

Evan sat down, clearly exhausted.

"I've been feeling unwell for the past couple of days. Went to the doctor, and they said it was just fatigue and gave me some medication. But hasn't helped,” Evan explained.

Worried about disturbing Josefina's examination, Evan fell silent.

After a short while, Josefina withdrew her hand from Evan's wrist.

"Uncle, have you been anywhere unusual these past few days? Had any contact with strangers?"

"No, we've been dealing with Mandy's situation. We've stayed in Westwood, and all our meetings have been online,” Evan replied truthfully.
