Chapter 730
"No doubt about it, it's gotta be Josefina. I can't think of anyone else," Shay fumed.
Dominic sat on the couch, forced to acknowledge Josefina's undeniable capabilities.
"What if it's Oliver? How could Josefina pull off something like this?" Dominic questioned.
"Dom, you weren't here. You didn't see what Josefina's capable of. Why do you think Lena got caught? It was Josefina pulling the strings all along. Without Josefina being dealt with, Lena would've never been exposed," Sydney chimed in, her voice thick with resentment towards Josefina for all their failed plans.
Shay's glare was venomous, and even the foul mood emanating from Sydney seemed to pale in comparison.
"Mom, I suggest we deal with Josefina ASAP. Her presence is a major roadblock to our plans," Shay proposed, clearly agitated at the mere mention of Josefina.
Dominic looked at Shay with a smirk, "Weren't you the one who tried to take Josefina out yesterday? Seems like you didn't quite manage, huh?"
Shay was silent, realizing Dominic was just stirring the pot.
Not backing down, Shay retorted, "And what about you, Dominic? If you're so capable, why don't you get rid of Josefina yourself? With Oliver not in Westwood, who's to stop you?"
Sydney, watching her children bicker, snapped, "Enough with the squabbling. Instead of wasting time arguing, we should be figuring out what to do next. The Harrison family route is a dead end for now. Sitting around doing nothing isn't an option."
Shay and Dominic fell silent, both heeding Sydney's command.
...
Evan and Ayala were planning to leave Westwood and head back home. Alivia's health had stabilized, and they were taking the old lady with them.
Upon hearing the news, Mandy rushed to the hospital.
"Mom, Dad, how's the company doing? Did you ask Auntie for help? Xavier said he'd get his family to Help. He promised our company wouldn't go under, and it won't!" Mandy exclaimed.
Ayala was packing up the old lady's clothes while Hattie and Josefina came to see them off, staying back in the room Mandy was outside with Ayala and Evan, and everyone heard what she said.
"What help did Xavier offer exactly? Your dad and I haven't heard anything about
Xavier lending a hand these past few days," Ayala questioned.
Evan added, "I haven't received any calls either. Seems like Xavier's promises were just lip service. Can't you see that, Mandy?"
Mandy still believed in Xavier, "He's not like that, Mom and Dad. You just don't see
it."
Alivia came out and suggested,
"Why don't you call Xavier right now?
Tell him the company needs o
million Let's see if he's willin
help."
five
"Just five million; I'm sure Xavier will agree," she added, trying to instill some confidence.
Mandy, filled with hope, dialed Xavier's number. The first attempt went unanswered.
"He must be busy at work, not checking his phone," Mandy rationalized, making an excuse for him.
She tried again, and this time Xavier picked up.
"Mandy, what's up? I'm about to go into a meeting. I don't have much time," Xavier spoke in his usual tone.
Mandy quickly got to the point, "Xavier, my dad needs a five million loan. You can spare that, right? Could you lend it to him?"
Holding her phone, Mandy awaited Xavier's response with bated breath.
Without hesitation, Xavier replied, "Sorry, my company's tied up with its own expenses right now."
Mandy was left speechless...
