Chapter 873

Miss Josefina: Nobody's Princess · Dana E.

Josefina shared the update with Oliver, her voice tinged with satisfaction, "Looks like Jane's packed her bags and left Westwood. Seems she figured out she's met her match."

Oliver chuckled, leaning back in his chair with a twinkle in his eye. "Seems like she realized she's out of her league with you. Too scared to make another move, huh?"

Josefina, sprawled comfortably on the couch, gave him a playful look. "What, you think I'm some kind of she-devil?"

"Nah," Oliver's eyes softened as they locked onto hers, "I see you more as a queen."

Josefina stood up, brushing off her jeans. "I've gotta head out, can't hang around your office all day. Got a lab session this afternoon. You keep doing your thing."

As she headed out, the office door swung open, revealing Dominic mid-chat with George.

"I need to see Oliver, got some official business to discuss," Dominic said, his voice firm.

George, lounging in the doorway, crossed his arms. "Mr. Oliver's tied up with Mrs. Baldwin at the moment. Might want to swing by later."

Catching the conversation, Dominic turned just in time to see Josefina step out of Oliver's office, confirming what he'd suspected. The rumors were true; Oliver's feelings for Josefina weren't just a casual fling.

Already Mrs. Baldwin, huh?

Josefina took a couple of steps and paused, "I'm off then, George. You guys keep busy."

Without a glance in Dominic's direction, Josefina moved past, her indifference evident.

Dominic frowned, annoyed by Josefina's blatant disregard.

As Josefina disappeared down the corridor, George turned back to Dominic. "You can head in now."

The office door clicked shut behind Dominic, leaving him standing as Oliver sat, exuding authority.

"If it's not urgent, skip coming to my office. George can handle the minor stuff for me," Oliver said, his tone dismissive.

Dominic bristled, "In business, nothing's minor."

Oliver's gaze was sharp. "Alright then, what's this 'big deal' you're here about?"

Dominic squared his shoulders. "My research shows people are willing to shell out more for tech products. My strategy's solid."

A sly grin spread across Oliver's face. "My research says they're paying for quality assurance. And from what I gather, your pricey tech doesn't quite measure up, does it?"

Dominic was taken aback by Oliver's insight.

Oliver's stare was unyielding. "I'm the one making the calls here, Dominic. You're just my subordinate. Unless you've got something else, get back to work and stop wasting my time."

Seething, Dominic stormed out, the door slamming behind him. Back in his office, he sank into his chair, trying to cool down.

Without Brandon's support and the significant shares he held, Dominic's dreams of leadership were stuck in neutral.

His phone buzzed. Locking the door, Dominic answered, his expression shifting as a cool, female voice spoke, "I'm ready."

"Good, wait for my signal," Dominic replied, a calculated smile forming on his lips.

Back at the university, Josefina's stellar academic record not only set her up for graduating two years early but also landed her a gig teaching guest lectures at the medical school.

However, not everyone was thrilled with this turn of events. Leading the dissent was Shay.

Joelle, venting her frustrations in the

dean's office with several faculty members present, couldn't hide her irritation. "I don't care if Josefina is the national final exam champion, She's still a student. How can she be lecturing us? Dean, isn't this

favoritism towards Josefina?"

The room fell silent, all eyes turning to Joelle, waiting for the dean's response.
