Chapter 1063
"No need." Jimmie stood straight, the breeze ruffling his short hair. He looked even more desolate.
"Jimmie, are you sure you don't need a ride?" Juniper asked. "It's on the way."
"I'm good." Jimmie refused bluntly, letting out a cold scoff. "I'm already full, I don't think sitting in your car is a good idea."
Juniper didn't catch his meaning right away, but Shanley squeezed her hand, trying to hold back a laugh. "Let's go. Jimmie is allergic to PDA."
Juniper pursed her lips; Jimmie really was a bit pitiful.
Everyone else had someone to pick them up, except him.
With so many women in the entertainment industry, how come none had caught his eye?
If this kept up, she was seriously going to question his preferences.
Thinking about how he hid every time he saw Luella Langley only deepened her suspicions.
Once everyone had left, Jimmie stood alone in his spot, taking a moment to gather himself.
Just as he was about to head to the parking lot, a familiar voice drifted over from nearby.
"Jimmie, what a coincidence."
Luella had been busy with Sanctum Holdings' affairs lately, flying back and forth to Borealia.
And here they bumped into each other again.
Talk about destiny.
Jimmie looked up to see Luella pulling along a pretty young girl.
The girl was practically hanging onto her arm, wearing a sickeningly sweet smile.
Didn't she like men?
"I'll pass on this kind of destiny," Jimmie said coldly, continuing to walk. "Have some conscience and stop leading innocent girls on."
How old was that girl anyway? Was she even legally an adult?
"Tsk." Luella scoffed, completely unfazed by his comment, flashing a wicked grin. "If
I don't lead her on, should I lead you on instead?"
Jimmie missed a step and nearly tripped.
What a creep.
What kind of terrible friends did Juniper make?
Once Jimmie was out of sight, Luella turned to the girl. "Alright, let's go."
"Luella, do you like him?"
"What nonsense are you spouting?" Luella took a deep breath and covered the girl's mouth. "Watch what you say, it'll only get you in trouble."
"When you talk to him, there are stars in your eyes," the girl leaned in, giggling. "You don't act like that with other men."
Luella gulped. Her? Liking a narcissist like Jimmie?
That was a terrifying thought!
"No way." Luella shut down that messy idea, gently knocking the girl on the head.
"I'm Superman, that's why there's light in my eyes."
"Go, go, go, hurry up and head out. Say hi to your uncle for me."
This girl was someone Luella had accidentally saved when she first arrived in Eclara City.
The girl fell in love at first sight, threatening to do crazy things if Luella wouldn't let her marry her.
Left with no choice, Luella had to literally show her the truth: she was a woman. "Okay." The girl looked at Luella, then back in the direction Jimmie had gone.
She thought the two of them were acting super weird.
Still, was that man really Jimmie Tate?
Luella certainly had good taste!
On the other side of the city, a girl who had been working as a server changed out of her uniform and crouched in a corner, trembling as she spoke into the phone looked at me today."
"You've got some skills," the person on the other end sneered
sarcastically. "If everything goes to
plan Shanley will go buy a cake
tomorrow
You wait outside the
shop. Pick the right moment and
bump into him."
"He..." The girl gripped her phone tightly, panic flashing across her face. "What if Mr.
Schwartz gets mad? He's so intimidating, I'm scared!"
"What good is that face of yours
then?" Sheryl Yardley was so furious
she wanted to kick her, shouting into the receiver, "I'm warning you, if you want your brother totive, your better listen to me Seduce Shanley and get into his bed!"
