Chapter 1115
Theia stood frozen. If she had doubts before, she was now absolutely certain that Seven had recognized Silas. The 'Five' was Celine locked next door, and the 'Seven' was herself. No wonder she returned to Sanctum Holdings—it was likely because of Celine.
"Thank... thank you." Aware of the cameras, Theia didn't dare show too much emotion. She only added, "Dr. Nocturne, since my husband is improving, you probably won't need to come back, right?"
*Don't come back, Seven. You're so young. Live your own life. The waters of Sanctum Holdings are far too deep.*
"I don't know." Juniper's tone was icy as she suppressed the tidal wave of emotions inside her. "It depends on his recovery. If Sanctum Holdings pays enough, of course I'll be back."
It was a clear message to Theia: She would return to get them out.
"Right this way, Doctor," the guard interrupted, leading her away. "Mr. Thorne is waiting."
"Let's go." Juniper looked away, a layer of frost settling over her entire demeanor. Watching the girl, Shanley frowned deeply. What had just happened? Why did it feel like she had suddenly turned into a completely different person?

In the main hall, Corvus sat in a mahogany chair, rolling a string of prayer beads in his hand. He stared at her with suspicion. "Dr. Nocturne asked to see me?"
"That's right." Juniper met his gaze and noticed the gold watch peeking out from his sleeve. She had seen that watch before. After the shipwreck, a mysterious organization had taken part in the rescue. One of the men wore that exact watch. If she had noticed it sooner, she might have found her parents much earlier.
"I heard your partnership with Subterra Vanguard is on hold?" Juniper asked, lacing her voice with irritation. "When Specter invited me to join they promised the world. They especially emphasized the massive payout. I turned down other jobs to sign on, and now'm told the deal is paused? Specter is incredibly unreliable!"
"Indeed." Sensing her angle, Corvus narrowed his aged eyes, his voice gravelly.
"Would Dr. Nocturne be interested in working with me directly?"
"That depends on your offer," Juniper said, staring him down. "It's the Gene
Modification Project, right? I've dabbled in that area."
"You?" Corvus was surprised and clearly skeptical.
"Yes, me." Juniper smirked
confidently if I'm not mistaken, the man you want me to keep alive is one of your key test subjects. Your project must be stuck on a critical phase. I've handled countless cases involving genetic modification. I might be exactly what you need to cross the finish line."
"And you just want money?" Corvus scrutinized her, still doubtful.
"Of course not." Juniper gave a cold, faint smile. "Once the project succeeds, I want access to all the core data."
"Hmph." Corvus's eyes narrowed dangerously, a mocking chuckle escaping his throat. "That's quite an appetite."
"I have a fast metabolism," Juniper countered smoothly, knowing when to pull back: She checked the timez "But fd recommend you reconsider working with Subterra Vanguard. You can't chew through Borealia on your own. With Subterra Vanguard's help, you'll get twice the result with half the effort."
Corvus considered it. He knew she was right, but Specter was a thorn in his side. He likely wouldn't be able to control them later. Dealing with Theia and Celine was already a massive headache. If he managed to capture the rest of her children...
He scoffed internally. Unsurprisingly, every single kid she birthed had a spine of steel.
