"I'll think about it," Corvus finally said, his words cold and measured. "I'll be in touch."

"No problem." Juniper smiled faintly. She tossed a bottle of pills onto the table and crossed her arms. "His body is in terrible shape. He can't take much more torment. If anything else happens to him, calling me won't do any good. Give him this medication three times a day, right on schedule. Let's go."

Having said her piece, Juniper didn't wait for Corvus's reaction and turned to leave.

She hadn't taken more than a few steps when Corvus's voice rang out again. "Dr. Nocturne, wouldn't this be considered a betrayal against Specter?"

"Betrayal?" Juniper narrowed her eyes and laughed coldly. "You seem to have forgotten that Specter only approached me because of your demands. Specter and I *were* partners... Now?" Juniper paused, a wicked smirk playing on her lips. "Well, if you can convince Specter to come back to the table, maybe we can still be partners."

Corvus's expression darkened as he watched Dr. Nocturne walk away.

A moment later, Gino the steward stepped forward and bowed his head respectfully. "Sir."

"Did she talk?" Corvus asked, his face rigid.

"No." Gino kept his head down, his tone extremely cautious. "She's stubborn. She refuses to say a word."

"You can't even pry open a little girl's mouth?" Corvus turned to look at Gino, a terrifyingly dark sneer forming on his lips. "What exactly am I paying you for? Do I need to teach you how to do your job?"

"Perhaps..." Gino observed Corvus's expression carefully. "We could apply some physical pressure. She's delicate; she won't be able to handle it, and she'll likely break."

"I assumed I wouldn't have to spell it out for you." Corvus leaned back in his chair, crossing his legs and rolling his prayer beads. His tone was eerily calm. "What are you waiting for? Do I need to do it myself?"

"No, sir!" Gino hurried to comply. He had only hesitated because he feared the boss still had lingering affections for the mother, and he hadn't dared to be too rough of Celine. But now it was clear there. was no mercy to be found, if they couldn't get the locations of the other siblings, Celine was going to suffer.

With permission granted, Gino returned to the basement and shoved the heavy door open.

"Force it down her throat."

"Yes, sir." Two guards immediately stepped forward, pinning Celine down and ruthlessly pouring a vial of liquid into her mouth.

"Mmph-" Celine fought desperately, but it was useless. The unknown potion was forced into her system. When the guards let go, she collapsed onto the floor, clutching her throat and gagging.

"Since you refuse to speak, we have to get creative," Gino said, staring down at her coolly. "This drug won't cause any physical damage, but it will trap you in a comatose state filled with relentless, agonizing nightmares over time it shatters a person's psyche. You won't be able to tell dreams from reality, and eventually, you'll die of exhaustion."

"Ha." Celine glared at him viciously, flashing a triumphant smile. "I'm not afraid of you. Give up."

"Is that so?" Gino smiled faintly, his

tone completely flat. "If you still refuse to talk in three days, we'll switch to a different drug. One that induces the sensation of being eaten alive by venomous snakes. The pain is very real and constant... No one lasts more than a few days. I look forward to seeing how you handle it."

He had originally intended to go straight to heavy physical torture, but seeing her current state, a few lashes of a whip would likely kill her outright. The boss needed her to talk. Killing her would ruin the plan.
