Chapter 120
Chapter 120:
Earlier, she had discreetly attached a miniature recording device beneath the coffee table in Rosita’s office.
Fernanda sat down on the sofa and ordered a slice of cake, eating it slowly as she watched the people pass by outside the floor-to-ceiling window.
At 4:50 p.m., she made her way back upstairs to find Rosita.
This time, the receptionist didn’t make her wait. She escorted Fernanda straight to Rosita’s office and knocked to announce her arrival.
Rosita was taken aback when she saw Fernanda standing before her once more.
Fernanda walked over with poise, reached under the coffee table, and pulled out the recording device, waving it in front of Rosita. The red light on the device remained on, signaling it was still recording.
Rosita’s expression shifted instantly.
Fernanda was about to leave when Rosita suddenly shouted, “Quick, catch her!”
As soon as Fernanda opened the office door, she bolted out. The staff outside, alerted by Rosita’s shout, rushed to stop her.
Rosita tried to grab Fernanda, but she was too fast. Unable to catch her, Rosita continued yelling at the staff to corner Fernanda and not let her escape.
As Fernanda found herself surrounded, Rosita’s initial panic melted.
Rosita straightened up, a sneer spreading across her face. Did Fernanda truly believe her little tricks would work? How hopelessly naive.
Playing games and hiding evidence were nothing new for Rosita; she just needed to completely remove the evidence from Fernanda’s reach.
Rosita’s smugness was short-lived, however, as the glass doors to the company office suddenly swung open. A group of men confidently stepped in, making the already crowded corridor feel even more claustrophobic.

The moment Fernanda spotted them, she waved excitedly. “Ector, over here!”
Leading the group was Ector, dressed impeccably in a sharp suit, flanked by several towering security personnel, all of whom exuded authority.
With a commanding tone, he ordered, “Let her go!”
At his command, the staff from Entertainment Today immediately released Fernanda and stepped back.
Without hesitation, Fernanda stepped over to stand beside Ector.
Ector’s voice was full of concern as he asked, “Are you okay?”
“I’m fine, really.” Fernanda smiled faintly, then turned her attention to Rosita, whose somber expression didn’t go unnoticed. “I’m sorry, Ms. Nelson, but my brother is here to pick me up, so I have to go now. We can reschedule for another time to chat. You’ve already got my contact info.”
Once Fernanda finished speaking, Ector’s assistant opened the glass door, and they all stepped out, leaving the bustling newsroom of Bright Lights Media behind them.
