Chapter 128
Chapter 128:
Alex, confused, called out, “Neal, where are you going?”
The shout caught the attention of nearly everyone in the eatery, and all eyes turned their way.
From a table by the window, a girl with a ponytail jumped to her feet.
Her voice carrying across the room. “Hey, Neal, why are you leaving?”
Neal paused, an exasperated look crossing his face.
The girl jogged up to him, stepping in his path, and looked up with a playful smirk. “Hey, why are you leaving so soon? Are you trying to avoid me or something?”
“Oh, I just… suddenly felt like having something different,” Neal said, his voice a bit tight, his eyes focused straight ahead, clearly avoiding her gaze.
The girl laughed brightly. “Ah, I get it now. Well, if that’s the case, I’ll come with you. Honestly, I don’t think this place is that great either. Let’s go somewhere else.”
Without waiting for him to respond, she quickly linked her arm through his and started pulling him along.
Neal tried to break free, but she held on to him with surprising strength, like a koala clinging to a tree, making it impossible for him to escape.
During his struggle, Neal’s arm brushed against her chest, and he instantly pulled back, his face flushing as if he had been burned by the contact.
Neal stammered, his voice catching slightly, “Please, don’t do that. I’m not really used to it.” His embarrassment was clear as he fumbled for the right words.
“Don’t worry, you’ll get used to it pretty quickly,” the girl teased, a playful smile dancing on her lips as she looked up at him.
A soft breeze brushed by, causing her pleated skirt to flutter gently. She exuded a carefree, magnetic energy.
Then she tugged Neal into another eatery.

She slid the menu across the table to him, her eyes sparkling with mischief, a playful smile curving her lips. “So, what are you in the mood for? It’s my treat.”
“It’s fine, really,” Neal said, waving his hand dismissively. “I’ll cover…”
“You just pick what you want.”
He wasn’t entirely comfortable with the idea of her paying. He didn’t mind the offer, but it didn’t sit well with him.
“Wow, you’re so sweet! Such a gentleman,” the girl exclaimed, her hands pressed to her chest, her eyes lighting up with genuine admiration.
Her voice rang out—sharp and intentionally high-pitched—and it made Neal cringe, sending a chill through him.
He placed a few orders, hoping to get through the meal as fast as possible.
The food came out quickly, and Neal dove into his meal, barely looking up. The faster he ate, the sooner he could escape the discomfort of the moment.
