Chapter 171
Chapter 171:
“In that kind of work, anyone caught accepting such tasks privately will be asked to pack up and leave. I don’t want to see them here again.” With that, Fernanda turned and walked out.
Rosita sat in her chair, Fernanda’s words still echoing in her mind. After a brief pause, she suddenly laughed, unsure whether she was mocking herself or Fernanda.
She had warned Fernanda that this approach wouldn’t work, but Fernanda was determined to follow it. Did she really think running a new media company was simple? How could she expect success without putting profit first?
Fine. If Fernanda was intent on being an honest media professional, Rosita would let her experience just how hard that path was.
There would come a time when she would regret it.
After leaving the meeting room, Fernanda ran into Waldo.
Earlier, in the packed meeting room, he had thought Fernanda wouldn’t notice him. But now, with only the two of them in the hallway, Waldo suddenly felt uneasy.
“Um, hello, Miss Morgan,” he stammered, his greeting awkward.
Fernanda smiled and nodded, glancing at the file he was holding.
“Looking for Rosita?”
Waldo nodded eagerly.
Fernanda extended her hand. “Let me see it first.”
Nervously, Waldo didn’t dare refuse. He handed the file to her respectfully, looking nothing like the arrogant man he’d been earlier. He quietly watched her, feeling relieved that she wasn’t bothered by what had happened in the elevator.
Fernanda flipped through the file and noticed that most of the news items for the day were about trending topics they had talked about recently.

“Take this one out,” Fernanda said, pointing to a particular news item. It was about a female celebrity who had expressed her thoughts on relationships during a variety show, and the media had distorted her words to stir up controversy.
“But this is a trending topic,” Waldo said, surprised by her reaction.
“If you want to publish it, post the full video for everyone to watch. What’s the point of editing it and twisting her words?”
“But this is how everyone does it,” Waldo argued, not understanding the problem.
“Just because everyone else is doing it, does that make it right?” Fernanda’s eyes narrowed. “Some people thrive on spreading trash. Do you want to be one of them?”
Waldo lowered his gaze, remaining silent, while a faint pout of disapproval tugged at his lips.
“Remove this one, but the others can go live. Do you understand?” Fernanda asked firmly.
