Chapter 206
Chapter 206:
Her involvement with campus activities, especially performances, was minimal.
“Why come to me at the last minute?” Fernanda inquired, frustration evident in her voice. “This event happens every year. Why didn’t you approach me sooner? With just one night left, there’s hardly any time to prepare!”
Levi rubbed the back of his neck, embarrassed. “I hesitated to impose on you, knowing that your foot injury is still healing. We figured something simple would suffice. Unfortunately, the talent among the new students is lacking, which led to continuous delays. Now, we’re desperate for any ideas you might have. Or… maybe you could just appear onstage and do nothing.”
He half-joked, nervously biting his lip. “Your beauty alone could leave a lasting impression.”
Levi had even come up with a plan to have Fernanda take a picture with others, so he could charge them and funnel the proceeds back into the academy. He thought it was a brilliant moneymaking scheme.
Fernanda quickly realized that Levi was proposing she exploit her appearance for the academy’s benefit. How could he come up with such a terrible idea?
The others stayed quiet, recognizing the absurdity of the suggestion without further discussion.
Given the time constraints, they needed a plan that was straightforward and feasible.
“Do you seriously have no other ideas?” Fernanda pressed.
“Not exactly. We were considering putting together a band and performing a song, but we hit a snag—nobody knows how to play the electric guitar. And we preferred not to use senior students for the welcome event.”
Finding a lead singer was the easy part; many students had vocal talent. They secured someone for the keyboard and acoustic guitar and even found a drummer. The electric guitar, however, remained unclaimed.
The success of a band hinges on a skilled electric guitarist. Often, the electric guitar solo becomes the centerpiece of a show. Fernanda responded, “I’ll step in.”
“Really?” Levi’s expression was one of shock. “Are you able to?” He had not discussed this option with Fernanda initially, doubting her ability to handle the electric guitar, so he hadn’t seen the point in mentioning it.

“I’ve played before, though it’s been a while,” Fernanda admitted. “Get me the guitar. I’ll see if I can still manage it.”
Overjoyed, Levi quickly arranged for the guitar to be brought to her.
Despite the subtle difference in name, electric guitars present a greater challenge than acoustic ones, primarily used in band settings compared to the acoustic’s suitability for solo performances. Playing the acoustic guitar might require mastering only a few chords, but executing solos on an electric guitar requires adept fingerwork.
When the guitar was delivered, Fernanda donned it confidently and plucked a few chords. Levi’s anxiety dissipated at the sight; she clearly had a grasp of the instrument.
With Fernanda handling the electric guitar, the band immediately looked more cohesive and professional.
