Chapter 309:

Maybe this was a thread she could pull.

Bloom Group was a titan in the industry, naturally drawing attention.

It wasn’t far-fetched to think there might be cracks in the facade, weaknesses she could exploit.

Not that she planned to take any action against Bloom Group just yet; she was simply preparing for what might happen next. Her goal was to grow Bright Lights Media into a formidable force, and crossing paths with Bloom Group was inevitable.

It would eventually happen, even if the incident related to Rafael hadn’t occurred.

The incident had merely forced her to notice them sooner, giving her time to prepare.

As Bobby munched on his chips, he asked casually, “Are you planning to take on Bloom Group? Just say the word. You don’t need to lift a finger. My cousin and I can handle it for you.”

“No,” Fernanda said, waving her hand in dismissal. “I’m only gathering information.”

She was determined to carve out her own success, without leaning on Bobby or Cristian.

Bobby chuckled. “It’s rare to see you asking me for help.”

A family camping nearby joined Sloane and her friends as they played cards. The new pals were enjoying themselves immensely.

They didn’t see any of Jeff’s other friends on the mountaintop. Jeff stated that the peak was large, covering several kilometers, and that since there were multiple routes up the mountain, they might be in different places.

A small boy, no older than six, approached Fernanda and Bobby, his dark eyes fixated on the snacks sprawled across their picnic mat.

Fernanda’s face lit up with a warm smile as she leaned toward him. “Would you like something to eat?”

The boy didn’t respond, his big eyes blinking up at them.

He had a round face and large eyes. Wearing denim overalls and a denim beret, he looked very cute.

Bobby, finding the boy adorable, held out the bag of chips. “Want some chips?” The boy nodded, his tiny hands eagerly grabbing the bag.

Bobby grinned, finding the boy an odd mix of enchanting and mischievous. But his grin froze faster than ice in a winter storm as the boy dumped the entire bag of chips over his head!

Caught off guard, Bobby leapt up from the ground, shaking his head furiously as crumbs cascaded down like snowflakes on a windless day. The boy giggled, his laughter as carefree as a summer breeze. He bounded onto their picnic mat with the energy of a wild colt, stomped on several packs of chips, and then grabbed one to hurl at Bobby.

Blindsided, Bobby squinted in pain, his eyes burning from the assault. “Ahh!” he yelped, unable to pry them open.

Fernanda’s smile evaporated like dew under the sun. This wasn’t a cherubic child; this was a pint-sized hurricane.

“Hey, you little rascal!” Bobby bellowed, his voice a blend of anger and disbelief. “What did I ever do to deserve this?”
