Chapter 590
Chapter 590:
As the evening progressed, the Harper family’s servants announced that dinner was ready, ushering everyone to the dining room. Footsteps echoed from the stairs, catching Fernanda’s attention as Evie assisted Curran down.
Curran’s presence was a surprise.
His face broke into a wide grin upon seeing Fernanda. “Oh, Fernanda, my dear, you’re here! It’s been too long since I last saw you. I’ve really missed you!”
He quickened his pace, leaning in to whisper, though not quite softly enough. “During Christmas, I received loads of gifts, some of which are antiques. We should find some time to appreciate them together.” His voice, meant to be hushed, carried clearly across the silent dining room.
Robert beamed with joy upon witnessing how much Curran favored Fernanda.
“Alright,” Fernanda nodded, her smile gentle. “I’m free anytime.”
“That’s great!” Curran exclaimed, still attempting to keep his voice low. “You’re the only one I’m inviting. If anyone else wants to join, well, they have no chance!”
Judie, slightly amused, moved forward to help Curran to the table. “Alright, alright, we all know how much you cherish your antiques. Let’s eat first; you’ll need the energy to talk more about them later, right?”
But Curran still held onto Fernanda’s hand, insisting, “Fernanda, sit next to me.”
He took the main seat at the table, with Fernanda on his right and Martin on his left.
The Harper family had prepared a feast. Judie handed a king crab leg to Curran, who, instead of eating it himself, placed it on Fernanda’s plate.
Smiling warmly, he said, “Fernanda, try this.”
The cheerful tone in Curran’s voice suddenly reminded Fernanda of Hiram. When Hiram used to offer her something tasty, he always had that same kind and gentle look.

She turned to Curran and softly said, “Thank you.”
Evie, sitting nearby, let out a soft huff and pouted. “Grandpa, you always gave me the tasty bits first, but now it’s all for Fernanda. It seems you’ve forgotten about me and only have eyes for her!”
Curran immediately adopted a stern expression. “What nonsense are you talking about? I’ve adored you for over a decade. It’s only recently that I’ve started being nice to Fernanda, and already you’re green with envy?”
“Yeah, I am jealous! Grandpa, you have to peel one for me too!” Evie declared.
Curran burst into laughter, grabbed another crab leg, and replied warmly, “Alright, I’ll peel one for you too. Whatever Fernanda has, my granddaughter will get as well!”
The laughter spread, filling the room with a cheerful and lively atmosphere.
Curran then turned to Fernanda, a twinkle in his eye. “Honestly, I wasn’t planning to come today. But when I heard you’d be here, I decided to show up. Well, Fernanda, doesn’t that show how much I care about you?”
