Chapter 761
Chapter 761:
“So, it was Beckett behind the negative videos from Horizon Media targeting Neal?” Fernanda asked, her tone filled with disbelief.
“Exactly,” Cristian replied with a nod. “The info didn’t come from Horizon Media directly. I had someone dig into it for me. The company typically follows strict non-disclosure agreements when working with clients, so they can’t easily leak private details. The CEO of Horizon Media simply helped me take down the content and kept everything else to himself.”
Fernanda cast a thoughtful glance at Cristian. “Your team is impressively quick in handling things.”
Even if she had asked Leon to investigate, she doubted it would’ve been this fast.
A faint smile graced Cristian’s lips. “In investments, being attuned to trends is vital. Efficiency is key. It’s not just about finance; I apply the same principle in every venture.”
“Every venture?” Fernanda took a step closer. “Like what?”
She already suspected Cristian had stakes in more companies than just Vertex Investments, but she was curious about the other industries he was involved in.
Cristian’s gaze dropped, his lashes casting a soft shadow, and his eyes shifted into something deeper, more alluring.
His voice grew quieter, smooth, and rich like aged wine, laced with an undeniable charm. “Well, not a quickie in everything.”
Fernanda blinked, confusion flickering across her face. “What?” Her mind briefly stuttered. What was he implying?
With a deliberate movement, he leaned in closer, his handsome face now just inches from hers. “What’s going through your mind? Why are you turning red?”
Instinctively, Fernanda cupped her face, her palms pressing into her cheeks. Was she really blushing?
Cristian’s laughter erupted, loud and teasing, and Fernanda realized he was simply toying with her.

She raised her hand, aiming a playful slap at him, but Cristian didn’t flinch. He let the strike land. “You’re blushing,” he teased, his voice laced with amusement.
His grin was infectious, and suddenly, Fernanda wasn’t annoyed anymore. She lowered her hand, halting the teasing assault, and shot back with a smirk, “You might just be all talk. Many men brag about their stamina in bed, only to end up having a quickie, you know. I wonder, are you one of those guys?”
Cristian’s smile gradually faded, his expression hardening.
Without uttering a word, he turned and walked away. His posture was straight, almost distant, a quiet anger simmering beneath the surface.
A flicker of doubt crossed Fernanda’s mind. Had she crossed a line? Was he angry with her?
She trailed behind him, her gaze following him as he climbed into the car. As she stood there, contemplating whether to apologize, the door on her side of the car suddenly opened, and before she could react, Cristian pulled her inside.
Her body landed against the seat, and in an instant, Cristian’s figure loomed over her. One hand cradled the back of her head, while the other tightened around her waist, pulling her closer.
