Chapter 762
Chapter 762:
He lowered his head, his lips capturing hers in a kiss that was anything but gentle.
Fernanda couldn’t manage a sound. Struggling was futile; she was trapped in the narrow space, unable to escape as he held her down.
The kiss seemed endless. Time blurred around her—she could only feel the suffocating air, her head spinning and her vision dimming, as though she were drowning, desperate for oxygen.
When Cristian finally pulled away, Fernanda was still in a daze, her mind clouded. The rush of fresh air filled her lungs, and she gasped, struggling to regain her clarity.
As her senses sharpened, she caught sight of Cristian’s lips, flushed and glowing, making him appear almost otherworldly. The cool, composed man she knew had melted away.
With a gentle, affectionate motion, Cristian reached out, ruffling her hair as he smiled. “Still unsure of me? Someone with strong lungs doesn’t lack in other areas, you know.”
Heat spread across Fernanda’s face, coloring her cheeks in an instant. “You really are…” Her usual sharp tongue seemed to have betrayed her, leaving her nearly speechless.
Cristian leaned in, a teasing glint in his eyes. “Since you doubt my performance in bed, I should take the chance to prove myself.” Fernanda swiftly turned her face away, her gaze fixed on the window as she let out a small, frustrated huff. “That’s not what I meant at all. You’re overthinking it.”
Cristian’s smile deepened, his playful gaze never leaving Fernanda. “Every time I lay eyes on you, my calmness slips away. Guess you’re my poison.”
Silence followed as Fernanda bit her lower lip, unsure of how to respond.
The world outside the car window blurred as the scenery sped by. Finally, she broke the quiet, her voice hesitant. “Where are we headed?”
“We’re meeting Beckett,” Cristian replied smoothly. “Aren’t you eager to see him?”
Naturally, she wanted to.

But the realization struck her—Cristian had already discovered Beckett’s address. It seemed he always thought ahead.
Over thirty minutes passed before they reached a quiet residential area. Cristian parked the car and led Fernanda up the stairs to a door at the end of the hall.
With a sharp knock, the door swung open. Beckett froze, clearly shocked by their unexpected arrival.
The surprise lasted only a moment before Beckett tried to slam the door shut. Cristian was too fast, his hand blocking the door just in time. His forearm flexed, the muscles straining beneath his shirt.
Without hesitation, he kicked the door with force. Beckett stumbled back, and in that instant, Cristian pulled Fernanda into the apartment. Fernanda’s smile remained steady as she met Beckett’s gaze. “If there’s nothing to hide, then why the fear?”
Beckett’s eyes narrowed, a storm of anger clouding his features. “What do you want? We’re not exactly on friendly terms, are we?” The attempt to maintain composure was clear, but his voice betrayed the tension simmering beneath the surface.
“You’re right, we’re not friends,” Fernanda replied, unfazed. Without a second glance, she walked past him, heading straight for the living room. Settling onto the couch, she crossed her arms, her chin tilted in a quiet show of confidence as she watched him. “But some things need to be addressed. Remember what I told you? Don’t cause trouble for Neal again.”
