Chapter 813
Chapter 813:
They noticed how her approach to gaming differed significantly from theirs. The insights she shared were not only intriguing but also incredibly helpful. Their faces lit up with admiration and respect.
“Wow, you really know your stuff, Fernanda! It’s no surprise your team took the championship!”
“Initially, I had my doubts, but it’s clear now that you truly deserved to win.”
“Could you coach us sometime? Please!”
“Kevin, your sister is truly impressive!”
As the boys continued to commend Fernanda, they also indirectly complimented Kevin, and he couldn’t help but swell with pride. Kevin responded with a beaming smile, “Yeah, she’s definitely something special.”
Erika, sitting quietly at the far end of the table, felt disheartened and found her meal tasteless. Despite both being Kevin’s sisters, all the attention was on Fernanda, leaving Erika largely ignored.
Throughout the evening, no one really acknowledged her presence.
Erika attempted to join the conversation several times but found no opportunity to chime in. Her gaming skills were basic, far from the others’ level.
The atmosphere at Kevin’s birthday was filled with laughter and lively exchanges. After the cake was cut, the group carried it to the living room, eager to play online games with Fernanda.
Fernanda signed into a secondary account and played several rounds with them.
It was a thoroughly enjoyable birthday for Kevin.
He relished the genuine esteem from his friends, feeling exhilarated. Though their admiration was directed at Fernanda, whom he had underestimated before, it still lifted his spirits. Youth often magnifies such feelings of vanity.
For the first time, Kevin expressed his gratitude to Fernanda. His cheeks turned a bashful shade of red, his embarrassment palpable, but his tone was genuine.

Fernanda responded with a simple, “You’re welcome.”
Kevin bit his lip, then scratched his head awkwardly. “I need to apologize for some things I’ve done in the past. I hope we can get along better from now on.”
Fernanda raised an eyebrow. “And how well do you suggest?”
“I’ll stay out of your way,” Kevin said.
With that declaration, he felt as though a great weight had been lifted from his shoulders. These were sentiments he had held back for too long—perhaps since Fernanda’s championship victory, or from the times she had assisted him with his problems, or maybe even from when he first admired her skillful gameplay.
His pride had often prevented him from speaking his heart, but today, he had finally voiced his feelings.
“Agreed.” Fernanda smiled warmly. “Just keep your word.” She was largely indifferent to how Kevin felt about her.
Yet, upon realizing that Kevin was Fourteen—her long-time friend in the gaming world—Fernanda grew even more understanding and patient with him. After all, he was quite the endearing character online.
