Chapter 900
Chapter 900:
Fernanda was brought to tears by Martin’s sincere concern for her.
Since Hiram’s death, there had been few people who truly cared for her.
“It’s time for me to return to Esaham,” Martin said, glancing at the clock. “You should head back once you’re finished here. I heard you’re about to enter a programming competition. Give it your all.”
“Okay,” Fernanda nodded.
“Go ahead,” Martin said, nodding toward the door. “Cristian is waiting for you outside.”
The door swung open, and Cristian, who had been resting against the wall next to it, immediately straightened, his gaze fixed on Fernanda as she stepped out.
Fernanda appeared calm, her face showing no trace of distress.
Cristian’s eyes moved from Fernanda to Martin, who was right behind her. Martin chuckled, giving Cristian a friendly slap on the shoulder. “Come on, what do you think I’d do to Fernanda?”
He then lit the cigarette he had been fidgeting with in his fingers and looked over at Bobby. “I’m heading back. You coming?”
“Staying with Cristian!” Bobby responded without hesitation. “I’ll head back when they do.”
Martin knew Bobby too well to argue.
However, his final glance at Bobby spoke volumes. “We’ll talk about this when you get back.”
Bobby understood precisely why his father was upset—it was because he had kept Cristian and Fernanda’s relationship a secret from him. But it wasn’t really his place to reveal such private matters.
Martin left quietly, and the trio made their way back to the hotel room.

“Martin really supports us. He’s fine with our relationship,” Fernanda said to Cristian.
Bobby smiled broadly. “Of course, he would be. My dad’s quite open-minded. Just look at how he lets me lead my life. If he were some strict, traditional type, I’d probably be locked up in some prep school, groomed to take over the family business. How else could I afford to party and flirt carefree?”
“And he’s backing me too,” Fernanda continued. “Since Hiram died, no one in my family has offered such support.”
Fernanda found it bitterly amusing. The only genuine familial warmth she had received came from people like Hiram and Martin, who weren’t even her biological relatives.
Regarding her own family, their treatment of her was… quite different.
She saw the humor in the irony.
That evening, they visited the cemetery once more.
Toby’s demeanor towards Fernanda hadn’t changed much in recent days, but Felipa’s and Sarai’s were visibly more enthusiastic.
