Chapter 901
Chapter 901:
They were practically tripping over themselves to please her.
Except for the day she arrived, when they tearfully expressed how much they had missed her in the presence of her grandmother, Fernanda had not witnessed such warmth from them.
They tried to extend the same enthusiasm to Cristian and Bobby, but it was clear that neither of them was interested.
Cristian’s reserved nature made it obvious that he wasn’t keen on engaging in small talk. He mostly gave short, polite responses, maintaining a distance that prevented deeper interactions.
Bobby, on the other hand, was more straightforward. If he took a liking to someone, he could be exceedingly lively and engaging. But if he wasn’t interested, he could be exceptionally cold, sometimes choosing to ignore people completely.
The excessive attention they were showering on him made Bobby uncomfortable. He found their constant flattery irritating but felt obligated to tolerate it since they were Fernanda’s relatives.
Jade, Fernanda’s cousin, was particularly driving him to distraction. She sat next to him, talking incessantly, seemingly unfazed by Bobby’s earlier comment about her appearance. It was clear that, in her eyes, his social standing made any rudeness from him tolerable.
“Bob, what’s Esaham like?” Jade asked.

“Bob, do you play this game? I enjoy it, though I’m not very good. Could you help me improve? You seem to excel at it.”
Bobby exhaled a smoke ring and replied, “No.”
Then he added, “I don’t team up with beginners.”
Jade pouted. “Right, I’m certainly not as talented as Fernanda.”
At this, Bobby abruptly turned to look at her, his gaze sharp.
Jade’s cheeks flushed, and she quickly averted her gaze. “Why are you staring at me like that?”
Bobby replied, “I just realized something. You do have one good quality.”
Jade’s face turned even redder, thinking he was giving her a compliment. She shyly tucked her head down. “Really?”
She had spent two hours at the beauty parlor that day, carefully doing her makeup. She couldn’t help but think she must look stunning.
“You’re quite self-aware,” Bobby said, “You recognize your limitations in the game and admit you’re not on Fernanda’s level.”
