Chapter 906
Chapter 906:
“Grad school doesn’t have to interfere with your other activities,” Eddard countered quickly. “Many students successfully balance their studies with their careers. Pursuing it could really enhance your expertise, benefiting you in the long run.”
“I’m currently more focused on my career. With the rigorous academic environment here, falling behind could lead to expulsion. That would be quite embarrassing,” Fernanda explained with a light tone.
Eddard gave a nervous laugh. “You’re worrying unnecessarily. You’re talented enough to excel at anything you undertake.”
“I’ve discussed this with my boyfriend and family,” Fernanda added. “They’re all for me focusing on my career right now.”
A shadow passed over Eddard’s expression. “Oh, you have a boyfriend…”
“Yes.”
There was a moment of uncomfortable silence before Eddard nodded in understanding. Of course, she did. Given her brilliance, beauty, and capability, it would be odd if she didn’t have someone.
“Well, if you’ve made your decision, that’s what matters,” he remarked. “It was merely a suggestion. Ultimately, the choice is yours.”
“Thank you for the suggestion, Eddard,” Fernanda said sincerely.
She appreciated Eddard’s emotional intelligence. His ability to read the room and step back when necessary was something Fernanda admired deeply.
After Eddard departed, Fernanda gave the lab one final sweep before locking up. The hallway was silent except for the soft click of her key in the lock. As she turned around, she nearly leapt out of her skin—Cristian was right behind her.
“What are you doing here?” she asked, her hand over her heart.
“How else would I stay updated on how charming my girlfriend is?” Cristian quipped with a playful grin. “So, how many admirers have you collected this year?”

Fernanda was well-known on campus. After ending her engagement with Bobby and becoming single again, many young men tried to pursue her. At Cristian’s words, Fernanda smiled. She placed her hands on his neck and pulled him closer. “Are you jealous?” she inquired.
He stayed silent, offering only a faint smile as he gazed at her.
“No matter how many men declare their love for me, it won’t matter,” she whispered. “Cristian, you’re the only one I truly care about.”
Cristian beamed with happiness. He placed his hand on her head and gently tousled her hair.
It was just past 9 PM, and only a few students were making their way back from the library on campus. Fernanda and Cristian headed to a nearby diner and grabbed some food. Since Fernanda had an early class the next morning, she went straight to her dorm after they ate.
