Chapter 970
Chapter 970:
Fernanda read through the messages. Every word laid out Kevin’s deepest thoughts, things he had probably never said out loud before.
She stayed quiet, reading his messages carefully.
“I’m really torn. I resent her, but I know I shouldn’t. I don’t even know how to face her when I see her again. She hates my entire family—my parents, my other sister. I think she hates me too.”
“She always smiles at me, but I can tell it’s fake. She must despise me. Someone like her, someone that incredible, would have no problem pretending. But even if she does hate me, I can’t bring myself to hate her back. What am I supposed to do? I care about her, and I don’t want her to see me that way.”
Since he asked, Fernanda answered, “Relax, your sister doesn’t hate you. You’re way too adorable. Everyone must like you.”
Kevin retorted, “You don’t know her. If you did, you’d understand. She definitely hates me. She probably thinks I’m pathetic.”
Fernanda shot back, “Not a chance. I’d bet on it.” Then she added, “If your sister hates you, I’ll livestream myself doing a headstand while washing my hair.”
Kevin burst out laughing in front of the screen.
Nimbus was trying to cheer him up. She had no idea what his sister was actually like, but Kevin had trusted Nimbus for so long that, somehow, he believed it anyway—even if it was just empty words.
Then another message popped up. “Trust me, your sister could never hate you. She’s amazing, and so are you. You’re honest, brave, kind, and determined.”
“Have ambitions. That’s exactly how a teenager should be. Go talk to her with confidence. She’ll appreciate it more than you think.”
Kevin stared at the words, feeling strangely self-conscious. “Thanks, but I’m not that great.”
“I’m serious. You just don’t see yourself the way others do.”

Fernanda had noticed it before. The older Kevin got, the more he changed. He used to be an arrogant kid, but now he was someone with strong values and principles.
“Everything happens for a reason. If you can’t change other people, focus on changing yourself,” Fernanda texted. “You admire your sister, right? Why not try to improve yourself? This is a way for her to recognize your efforts.”
“But I don’t know what to do.”
“Go find your sister. She’ll tell you.”
Kevin couldn’t help but think Nimbus was remarkable. Talking to her made his worries seem smaller. She didn’t even know his sister, yet her words gave him confidence.
But was she right? Did Fernanda really not hate him?
Kevin had always looked up to strong people, and when they spoke, he tended to believe them.
