Chapter 979
Chapter 979:
They insisted it would be better if Fernanda spoke to Curran alone first. His reaction was bound to be explosive, and if Cristian showed up right away, it would only make things worse.
The plan was to let Curran process the news. Once his initial anger cooled, Cristian would step in.
It was nearly the end of the year, and Cristian still had a mountain of business matters to handle. He wanted to wrap everything up so his employees could enjoy their well-earned break. As such, Bobby was sent with Fernanda as a precaution.
Because he booked his ticket late, there were no seats left on Fernanda’s flight. He had to take the next one, which landed half an hour after hers.
But the moment he stepped into the house, he was greeted by Nolan’s infuriating words.
Without a second thought, Bobby tackled him to the floor, throwing punches.
Nolan could only move his upper body, leaving him defenseless as Bobby pinned him down and landed several blows.
By the time Terence managed to separate them, both were battered and bruised.
Nolan’s face was swollen on one side, while Bobby had deep scratches across his arms, some still bleeding.
“Bobby!” Terence snapped, his tone laced with frustration. “You just got here, and the first thing you do is start a fight with your cousin? That’s absurd!”
Haley quickly stepped in. “Terence, you can’t put all the blame on Bobby. Did you even hear what Nolan said? Anyone would’ve been furious about that.”
Bobby scoffed and sank onto the sofa.
Curran’s glare hardened. “You reckless brat.”

Bobby shot him a look and huffed. “Why am I the reckless one? Did you even hear what Nolan was saying? He’s sarcastic, condescending, and straight-up insulting.”
Curran, despite his scolding, was not entirely impartial. Compared to his two sons, he had always had a soft spot for his daughter, Judie. Naturally, that favoritism extended to her son, Bobby, as well.
Bobby had been charming and quick-witted since childhood, always knowing how to bring a smile to Curran’s face. Unlike Nolan, whose brooding nature made him harder to warm up to, Bobby had always been the easier one to love.
That was exactly why Martin and Judie had trusted him to accompany Fernanda today.
Bobby scooted closer to Curran and clung to his arm. “Grandpa, to be honest, from the moment I met Fernanda, I knew I wasn’t interested in her that way. Not in a romantic sense. I could tell right away that we were only meant to be friends, so I made sure she understood that from the start.”
Curran’s gaze darkened with suspicion. “From the start? When exactly? Be specific!”
“As early as you’d expect,” Bobby admitted without hesitation.
