The immediate task was to get Selena to the hospital as quickly as possible.
With that in mind, Ashton pressed the accelerator, speeding toward the nearest medical facility.
Once at the hospital, they swiftly received Selena’s diagnosis with Ashton’s help.
Thankfully, it was as Ashton had suspected. Selena had a high fever due to excitement and exposure to the cold, with no complications.
This news eased both Ashton’s and Rosalie’s concerns. Suddenly, a figure burst into the room, disturbing the quiet.
Ashton turned to find Fraser storming in, his expression one of worry and frustration.
His usual calm demeanor was replaced by visible anger as he glanced at Selena lying unconscious on the bed.
Fraser’s eyes narrowed as he turned to Ashton, his voice tinged with reproach. “Ashton, what happened here? How did you let things get so bad for Selena?”
Fraser scolded Ashton as he set down bags of health supplements on the table.
Ashton just frowned, completely ignoring Fraser’s presence.
Fraser took Ashton’s silence as an admission of fault, which only made him more confident. He continued his tirade.
“Ashton, I heard you planned to take Selena out. I trusted you enough not to get involved. I expected you to look after Selena properly, but you’ve let me down!”
Then, turning to Rosalie with a smile, Fraser said, “Rosalie, I’ve brought these supplements and nutritional items for Selena after learning about her condition. Make sure she uses them to get better quickly.”
In the past, Rosalie would have been grateful for Fraser’s attention to her sister.

She sharply told him, “Fraser, please, just be quiet and don’t disturb Selena’s rest.”
Fraser’s face hardened as his smile disappeared.
He noticed Rosalie’s cold demeanor toward him.
Nonetheless, he quickly regained his composure and asked, “Rosalie, what’s the matter? I’m just worried about Selena’s health. Why are you so upset?”
Rosalie was itching to call him out. But she lacked concrete proof at the moment.
Moreover, the Campbell and Horton families were closely tied, which made it risky for her to challenge him openly. Thinking of future investigations, Rosalie chose to remain calm.
She responded icily, “We were ambushed by a group during our outing. Without Ashton’s level-headed and effective actions, we wouldn’t be safe right now. Yet, you blame him without grasping the full story. How could I not be upset?”
Fraser’s expression shifted briefly with the impact of her words, but he quickly masked his reaction.
He nodded, feigning contrition. “I understand. It was wrong of me to fault Ashton without knowing what really happened. How are you and Selena holding up? Did either of you get hurt? Have you identified who was behind the attack?”
