Chapter 198
Chapter 198:
In an effort to draw partners, Sup Group put forth quotations that were significantly higher than the average market rates.
Within mere days, they had wrapped up the planning phase of their project. All that was left was to get their branch registered and approved before they could proceed.
Sup Group’s maneuvers were seen as a direct challenge to the families involved with Skyline Group’s ventures. Their primary aim was to assert their dominance over Skyline Group.
Although the project spearheaded by Sup Group had not officially kicked off, it had already begun to strain relations with Skyline Group.
Ashton, however, was not overly concerned about the aggressive tactics of Sup Group.
The stature of Skyline Group was such that it was unlikely to be shaken by these maneuvers.
Recently, Ashton was preoccupied with his school commitments, which provided a brief respite from his interactions with Rosalie.
He made it a point to reach out to her only after his classes to check on the progress of their project.
One afternoon, just as he stepped out of his classroom, Ashton received an unexpected call before he could make a call to Rosalie.
It was from an unfamiliar number, yet the voice on the other end was recognizable. It was the project manager, Hector Garza, from the construction site.
“Mr. Baldwin, Miss Campbell has sprained her ankle. I’m tied up overseeing the construction. Could you come by if it’s not too much trouble?”
“I’ll be there immediately.” Ashton sped to the construction site in a hurry.

Guided by Hector, Ashton at last located Rosalie in a makeshift office on the premises.
In the office, Rosalie was resting on an improvised bed, her eyebrows knitted together, showing signs of pain on her otherwise serene face. Seeing Ashton arrive so swiftly brought her a sense of relief mixed with surprise.
However, Ashton was very observant. Beyond her pained expression, he noticed a flicker of anxiety in Rosalie’s eyes, hinting that there might be another reason behind her injury.
Nevertheless, Ashton chose not to delve into the specifics at that moment. He was more concerned with Rosalie’s immediate comfort.
He moved closer to her. “How are you feeling? Can you lift your foot for me to check it?”
Rosalie’s cheeks turned pink, and she bit her lip, seeming uncertain.
She remembered the last time Ashton had attended to a sprain she had.
The memory of that intense feeling was still vivid. Was it about to be reignited?
This thought deepened her blush.
Noticing her reluctance, Ashton acted. He bent down and carefully slipped off her shoe, exposing her tender foot.
