Chapter 372
Chapter 372:
“Enough!” she snapped, cutting him off mid-grovel. “Don’t think your empty praise will erase this mess. Didn’t I give clear instructions that no one was to stir up trouble at the airport today? Or did my orders magically disappear before they reached you?”
As Ellis began to relax, thinking the worst was over, Abrial’s interrogation struck with the force of a thunderclap. Instantly, he felt a chill run down his spine and sprang to his defense, his voice trembling as he spoke.
“It’s just a misunderstanding! Those two insulted me, and I was only having my men block the door to cool off. We didn’t cause a scene inside the airport, I swear! We just kept them from leaving while staying vigilant for your esteemed guests!”
Abrial’s lips curled into a cold, mirthless smile. “Guests?” she scoffed. “I don’t even know who I’m supposed to be waiting for, yet here you are, helping me?”
Without missing a beat, Ellis nodded vigorously. “Of course! With your high status, your guests can’t just be anyone. I’m sure the moment they arrive, I’ll know them instantly!”
Ellis’ mind was a whirlwind of scheming as he prepared his next move.
“You know, this involves you too,” Ellis continued, weaving his words with subtle malice. “Those two fools were disrespectful, even going so far as to mock the people of Staville. They said that in their eyes, someone like you wouldn’t even be fit to serve them!”
Abrial’s expression shifted imperceptibly, a subtle arch of her brow that spoke volumes.
Ellis’ heart leaped; he knew this sign well.
It meant Abrial’s temper was beginning to flare.

And when she was truly incensed, the repercussions for the couple would be severe.
Ellis, sensing the moment was ripe, prepared to point out Ashton and Rosalie as the targets of her growing ire. But just as he opened his mouth, he froze in surprise. Ashton and Rosalie had already stepped out of the airport.
A spark of triumph ignited within Ellis. Surely, they had sensed the gravity of the situation and were trying to make a discreet exit.
He wouldn’t let them slip away.
“There they are!” Ellis bellowed, thrusting a finger toward Ashton. “Miss Carter, my men will catch them right now!”
But before Ellis could act, Rosalie calmly retrieved her phone. In the very next moment, Abrial’s phone began to ring with an almost melodious chime.
Ashton’s prediction had come to pass. Rosalie stepped forward with a warm, confident smile, extending her hand.
“You must be Miss Abrial Carter. I’m Rosalie Campbell, representing Skyline Group for business discussions. It’s a pleasure to be here, and I’m looking forward to a successful collaboration!”
At the sound of Rosalie’s words, Ellis’ composure shattered. His legs buckled, and he crumpled to the ground, his face ashen and devoid of all its previous bravado.
Ellis could never have guessed that Ashton and Rosalie were the VIPs Abrial had personally come to greet.
