While lost in thought, planning his next steps, Ashton’s phone rang. It was a call from an unfamiliar number. He hesitated for a moment before answering. The voice on the other end was a woman’s, but he didn’t recognize it.
The woman got straight to the point. “Mr. Baldwin, your grandfather has arranged for people to help you. However, some things are not convenient to discuss over the phone. I hope you can find time to meet with us in person.”
After the initial surprise, Ashton asked, “Where?”
The woman quickly replied, “Let’s meet at the military region of Staville. That place can’t be accessed by regular vehicles. If it’s okay with you, you can wait on the rooftop of Dynastic. We will send a helicopter to pick you up.”
After finalizing their meeting location, Ashton hung up the phone.
Dynastic was known as a stately skyscraper located in the heart of Staville. But to Ashton’s surprise, when he arrived at the rooftop, he didn’t find the majestic helipad he had imagined. Instead, he discovered a sizable swimming pool.
What surprised Ashton even more was that the pool had been rented out.
The person who had rented the swimming pool was Ellis, the spoiled rich young man who had a falling-out with Ashton on the plane.
At that moment, Ellis was the only man in the sizable rooftop pool. He was accompanied by several attractive women frolicking in the water.
Ellis had been sulking ever since his conflict with Ashton. The humiliation lingered within him, and every time he thought of that incident, anger surged in his heart. He couldn’t accept his defeat. After all, Ashton had suffered nothing from their confrontation, while Ellis had endured a significant loss.
He was overwhelmed with frustration and anger, but had nowhere to vent. So, he decided to host a lavish pool party, inviting several young, attractive models to entertain him.
But just as Ellis stripped off his clothes and jumped into the pool, Ashton suddenly appeared, which only made him feel more depressed. The atmosphere hadn’t even heated up yet, and Ashton had already ruined it.
Fuming, Ellis jumped out of the pool and shouted, “Are you out of your mind? Why do you follow me like a filthy fly everywhere I go? You’re disgusting! I let you go last time because Abrial was there, but now, how dare you chase me here! Do you think I can’t do anything to you? No one can protect you here.”
Ellis was rash, acting impulsively to show off in front of the models. But as soon as the words left his mouth, he remembered Ashton’s skills from their previous encounter, and his bravado quickly faded. When he saw Ashton approach him, his face expressionless, Ellis instinctively took a few steps back, fear seeping in. He stammered, “I… I’m warning you. I rented this rooftop pool today. Even if you’re Abrial’s friend, you can’t just do whatever you want. You need to be sensible.”
Ellis had his back to the models, so they couldn’t see the fear etched across his face.
The models noticed the tension between Ellis and Ashton, and to make things worse, they started complaining in the pool. “Mr. Byrd, who is this guy? He’s so arrogant. How dare he barge in like that!”
